I used to guard those missiles when I was stationed at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson from 1983-1986

Our son just graduated from UA Tucson so we’ve explored several of these over the past few years. Since he’s still in Tucson, we’ll now have more on the radar for future trips, thanks!

I did some boondocking down in Las Cienegas and checked out the Empire Ranch a couple of months ago. Beautiful area down there. There was a jaguar that crossed over from Mexico living in the mountains there from about 2017 I think. He has since disappeared, been spotted back in Mexico, and a different jaguar has been spotted in the same mountains of Arizona. I hope they are able to preserve that entire area. Kartchner Caverns is a great outing too. They are very dictatorial in that you can touch NOTHING and if you do, one of the host will tag the area for “disinfection.” No cameras allowed, but the story behind the discovery and preservation is very cool. Happy travels!

I lived in Tucson for 30 years -- 1985-2015. You did a wonderful job outlining my favorite sights and experiences. Tohono Chul gardens is a worthwhile visit as mentioned in an earlier comment -- they used to have some fall evening events that included local live musicians that my family enjoyed. I have a favorite restaurant in Tucson -- Mariscos Chihuahua -- there are several now that grew out of the original in South Tucson (4 tables in the livingroom of an old house). My family generally all orders the shrimp "culichi" - the culuchi sauce is green (I think tomatillo based) and is AMAZING. They make good ceviche too. I enjoyed raising my family in Tucson.
Love your videos -- I have a Travato too -- currently I'm visiting Palm Springs

We took a docent led walk through Tohono Chul Gardens. It was fascinating to learn about all the plants in the area. Plus, it was a really pretty walk. We also took a food tour in downtown Tucson - that was alot of fun!
