Clanwilliam, the Cederberg Western Cape

Clanwilliam in the Cederberg, is an outdoor adventurers playground, with bouldering and hiking trails for miles, add to that the perfect place to explore the wild flowers in flower season.
Clanwilliam is situated at an elevation of 100 metres ,between the western slopes of the Cederberg mountains and the east bank of the Olifants River, which is impounded there by the Clanwilliam Dam. It is located just off the N7 national road, which runs from Cape Town to the Namibian border, and on the R364 road, which runs from Lamberts Bay to Calvinia. Clanwilliam is 230 kilometers from Cape Town by road.

one of my fondest memories from my western cape travels is from just south of clanwilliam, citrusdal, driving back to cape town from cederberg, on a warm summer evening and smelling the honey bush and citrus trees in the warm night air.
