If you visit Istanbul, you can see a whole copy of the treatise of Ibn al-Haytham called Kitab al-Manazir pertaining to 15 th century. This copy is maintained at the Süleymaniye Library where the lens laws are explained many cemturies before Gauss .

Noura You’re right except when you say they were all Arabs. In fact most of them came from Persian backgrounds but yes they were all Muslims. Not only were they knowledgeable in sciences but religion as well most of them were masters of Hadith sciences, fiqh, jurisprudence, Tasawuuf, etc.
