    Dr. Wood, I enjoyed your video. Scientists who believe in God are so rare, since they are persona non grata in their field and in the academic world. May God continue to use you to help us understand His creation.

      "scientist's who believe in God"
      They are growing in number, darwinism has been abandoned by the royal society (the people who funded darwin's voyage) as it doesn't gel.
      God is restoring his word and we are fortunate enough to be living in these times as we can witness it.

    How can we love others through God's creation? Share the wonders of how he created and sustains the universe, not through blind, random chance and processes and eons of time, but in HIS time, by his hand, for his glory! Showing how his irreducible complexity is engineered into all things, living or not.

    Youre right. We gotta love BioLogos and people like them though they frustrate us. Thanks for pointing that out. We left a church of 17 years because it came out that the pastor, who we had known many years and love (and his family), believed the nonsense & was subtly trying to teach it. Fast talk. Im the only one that I know of that figured it out. It’s rough.

    Main problem for is the absence of beneficial mutations (I don't mean fine tunning mutations) and abundance of destructive mutations.

    • @peteconrad2077
      @peteconrad2077 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s what natural selection is for. It selects out the detrimental ones and selects int he beneficial ones.

    • @ethanmoon3925
      @ethanmoon3925 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@peteconrad2077 Silent mutations mean detrimental mutations (all or nearly all are bad) pile up despite natural selection. Natural selection is a preserving force which staves off the true nature of mutation, which is, genetic decay. It works best for large populations, but it cannot save small populations. Small gene pools aka inbreeding amplify mutations within the population, leading to horrible diseases, and in some cases that population dies out.
      When I studied biology in secular college, even the examples of "beneficial" mutations I was taught were losses of information.

    • @peteconrad2077
      @peteconrad2077 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ethan Moon I suggest you go back to college.
      Most mutations are neutral, having no expressed effect. Negative ones, if the affect survival are selected out.
      It is obvious that it’s not a loss of information. Some mutations add alleles, so pretty change an existing gene and others delete. Only de,toons result in loss of information.

    • @ethanmoon3925
      @ethanmoon3925 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@peteconrad2077 All "neutral" mutations are a burden. Just because they don't cause enough of a problem at first to significantly lower survival doesn't make it okay. The more this happens, the more small malfunctions on recessive traits are likely to be passed on and this genetic baggage accumulates in the gene pool. Only expressed genes can be selected against, and expression of these traits can skip multiple generations, screwing with natural selection. This is why inbreeding is bad, healthy individuals carrying but not expressing mutations are more likely to produce offspring who express those diseased traits.
      Long sections of DNA are coded to a specific task. Even "adding information" can reduce meaning, for instance frame shifts (like removing the last letter of each word and adding it to the next word) can add "information" but render a whole stretch of data meaningless and unreadable.
      When you add random digits to computer code, you are adding digits but you're reducing the meaning of the information. If you keep fiddling with your computer like that, it might seem okay at first, but that code means very specific things for very specific functions. You are going to cause problems. Even if it doesn't crash it will slow down. If you actually want it to work, you want to keep it as close to the original as possible.
      Go back to college? Hell no. *Cocks pistol*
      They ain't taking me alive!

    • @peteconrad2077
      @peteconrad2077 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ethan Moon if they are a using a negative effect that will limit the passing on of genes they aren’t neutral. Most of the human genome has no effect on us.

      @tiptupjr.9073 "Young-age creationism" is essentially synonymous with "young-earth creationism." Some creationists prefer to use the term "young-age creationism" because it more accurately reflects our position that the entire universe, not just the Earth, is of a relatively young age.

      I am NOT for women preachers, BUT do NOT turn your back on Israel. It is JEWS who started the church...the FIRST CHRISTIANS...Jesus' eleven disciples. Remember Peter, and John, and Paul, etc. Blindness in part is on Israel, because that is part of God's plan. That is WHY God created the church which allows both Jew and Gentile to be part of the Church...the bride of Christ. God commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
      Psalm 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee."
      In the second coming Jesus' foot will land on the Mt. of Olives, east of Jerusalem (when Jesus will enter Jerusalem through the GOLDEN GATE)...after the Jews are surrounded with no one to help them and the world is gathered against them. With no human help, their knees will bow (just like their knees did on Palm Sunday) and they will cry out according to
      Matthew 23:39 “For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
      and Jesus will rescue the Jews by destroying all the enemies of God with the breath of his mouth. Then, Jesus will set up His millennial kingdom.
      The church is the bride of Christ and Israel is the bride of the Father. The book of Hosea is the picture of Israel prostituting itself (as Gomer) and leaving her husband (as Hosea, the prophet who was told earlier to marry a prostitute), but Hosea goes back in later and PURCHASES Gomer (after she leaves Him and then her lover drops her.) Gomer is put on the auction block to be sold as a slave. Then Hosea steps back in and purchases his wife as an act of love. Do NOT hate Israel...it is a HORRIBLE WITNESS. Jesus said, if you hate, you've murdered.
      Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

      @@dr4391 you do not seem to realize that there is no more Jews nor Greek we are ALL EQUAL and we are NOW in Jesus millenium reign and the gates of hell cannot prevail against Him and is body THE CHURCH made from all the elects from ALL NATIONS. Gal.3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
      8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. ( not only Israel but all nations)
      9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. (this is the true Church)

    • @dr4391
      @dr4391 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael: You and I both agree. The church is made up of both Jews and Greeks who understand that they are sinners because they have violated The Ten Commandments and are in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ. The church will go up in the RAPTURE for the wedding supper of the lamb as his bride. (That is why Christ is returning...to get his bride, the church. Wise grooms always show up BEFORE the wedding 😁 to get his bride or he won't be married.}. This marriage supper will last seven years while the Jews are on earth waiting to make things right w God.
      However, the unsaved Jews will remain on the Earth along with all the other unsaved for the tribulation period... Otherwise known as the 70th week of Daniel and/or the time of Jacob's trouble. The tribulation period Is for the saving of Israel and is when the temple will be rebuilt so the anti-christ can defile the rebuilt Temple. When this happens the Jews will flee. This will be the worst time on Earth ever. Jesus will eventually step in when the Jews repent. At this time Jesus will set up his millennial reign.
      When you say that there will be no more Jew or Greek...as Christians...that is correct. The tribulation period of seven years will be for the salvation of Israel who is blind now. the Bible says the Jews will grieve when they look on the one whom they have pierced. (All of us are responsible for Christ's death because Jesus is the only one who can pay the sin debt of the world.).
      What I am concerned about is the people who are trying to stir up anger against Israel. Jesus is not done with the Jews and anyone who instigates trouble against the Jews is guilty before God. We are to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
      We are to go into all the world and preach the gospel in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.
      Thank you so much for responding. We are in agreement. God bless you.

    To me this man seems to have his brain in a mental straight jacket. He sees the evidence for evolution, admits that at least some of it is compelling, but cannot consider that evolution might be true because the consequences of doing so would be too catastrophic for him to consider. For a man like this, to admit that evolution is true in and of itself would not be hard (he might even long for the intellectual honesty), but to do so would also cause him to lose his faith which is too much.

He lays out the fact that our DNA de-evolves over time with hard science. Dr. Michael Behe is a good resource to explain the irreducible complexity of the cell.
