First Impressions of HANOI Old Quarter and San Grand Hotel Vietnam 🇻🇳

- For my first impressions, I arrive in Hanoi, Vietnam and check into the San Grand Hotel in the Old Quarter. After a brief room tour, I head out into the city in search of a banh mi and a jacket to keep me warm while taking in the historic sights. The incredible sights, sounds and smells of the city are a new experience as I trek through my first few hours of arrival in the capital of Vietnam. From my taxi ride from the airport to check in at my hotel in Old Quarter: the San Grande, plus enjoying a banh mi sandwich and exploring the ancient landmarks, river and rooftop bar. It's all here on my first day as I give my first impressions of this fantastic city.

For real about the jacket! That would cost $150 here in D.C. The Nahn Mi looked great but the view from that restaurant was legit! Crazy how the weather dipped so much.
You need to keep in mind that 500K is equivalent to an average of 2 workings day of pays in vietnam. The $150 one in D.C are surely the real brand but that Jacket in Vietnam is the Chinese surely copy ...... or low quality ....... Have you heard of the 99-cents store.
I loved that little restaurant that had the seating upstairs! North face is like $200 here for a coat here! I enjoyed these sights of the country!

Hi Terry, glad you were able to visit the capital city of Vietnam. You must have got a lot of looks because you were wearing a T-shirt and the locals were wearing a jacket 😀. Btw, did you get a chance to try Bun Cha? This dish is what Hanoi's famous for.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities have always been my go to destination. The trouble is being ex military and a double amputee the roads and alleyways look unsuitable for my Atto mobility scooter. It will be a choice of either getting mown down by traffic or disappearing in some open sewer drain. Reluctantly I might have no choice but to delay my trip until my next lifetime.

The Vietnamese bought the whole chicken with flower for worship theirs ancestors or love one who pass away . This is the Vietnamese culture , once a year on the day of passing family members they worship them to remembering them , mostly theirs elders like grand parents and parents . After the worship they get together and have a meal among themselves . A chance for family reunion .
