Ikolo dalu,my father's first son died because ot this,thou his not the first son,they saw him as the wealthy person among his brothers,after they restored it back,but now that linage is over and my cousin is the holder but we dnt knw if his attending to it.
There are also many if us who's ancestors were stolen from our homeland, and were removed from what makes us igbo! The only thing linking us to being igno is our dna and maybe a few words. So everything that identifies us as Ndi Igbo has been erased such as ibserving the market days, oji, ofo, amd maintaining family order! How then do we restore our ofo? How then do we restore our igno identity? And after being on American soil soil for almost 600 years can we say that we are Igbo? Especially when we also have toes to other tribes and other peoples?

Well, the answer to your question is yes and no. This is because family dynamics and variables differ from one family to another. However, I believe if an individual has the mandate of the departed Ndi Ichie of their family such individual can restore back the lost Ofo. For this kind of scenario this individual has to be an elder. If it's a young person, the chances is very slim unless the young person has the backing of at least one elder from the family.

I think you need to ask your uncle who gave you the Ofo what to do with it.
