- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Covid-19 situation and vaccination drive. He said that the Centre has decided to once again take charge of procuring vaccines and will provide them to the States free of cost. Those in the 18-44 age group will get their doses free starting 21st June. PM Modi also announced the distribution of free rations under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana will be extended till Diwali.

Lost 3 relatives in the last two weeks...two due to lack of availability of oxygen beds. Lack of resources and broken medical infrastructure has taken a huge toll on us and family has to pay a big price by sacrificing lives. Very frustrated as two of the relatives who passed away were made to wait in hospital corridors for two days before oxygen bed was available. Doctor taking care of them passed away on the spot after they were given an oxygen bed. I've never witnessed anything so traumatic in my life and it's extremely frustrating to know that this is largely due to mismanagement, lack of resources, delay in approving key vaccines and broken medical infrastructure. There is nothing you can do or say to give us those three lives back sir. Among them a child has lost a parent...
