That and the black twin blade and axe with war cry should of had a unique black blade effect (Just like the actual gargoyles). The great sword feeds the black blade burn effect but doesn't apply it. So why did the other 3 black blade kindrid weapons get kinda shafted? Hope From does something to update them before or on release of the dlc.
@@boney-gumbodavis8020 also the Gargoyle’s Greatsword AoW is just basically a worse version of Taker’s Flames. Corpse Wax can be spammed and costs less FP but it’s just way worse overall. I mean that’s not saying much because Blasphemous is completely busted, but both weapons are Strength-Faith greatswords, so they’re in direct competition. All these weapons got shafted
I’ve always wondered when and why Chase decides to bow at his opponents but I’ve found a couple reliable patterns. 1. His opponent bowed at him 2. He just won an honor duel 3. His opponents had good teamwork 4. He feels bad for destroying them
@TheLordofEntropy I feel like when he can tell that the opponent is not that experienced (e.g. just spams L2 or a jump attack with no attempts at spacing) he bows out of courtesy.
Which when you think of it, makes no sense. I mean, we can put an AoW on the Godskin Peeler, Godskin Stitcher and depending on who you ask, Prelate's Crozier. They could've at least given it a Death AoW. :/ Oh well, to false hope that they change it up a much needed bit in the future.
My own personal theory is they ran out of development time to add unique ones to them. Rivers of blood used to only have bloody slash in the ver 1.00 of the game so it seems like adding unique ashes of war was lower on the priority list
It makes no sense, even within the gargoyle weapons. The gargoyle twinblade is a low dex, high str weapon perfect for strenght builds; the gargoyle greataxe is the lightest greataxe in game. This halberd is short, has the slash moveset, and isnt even a light halberd. Just confusing. Hopefully the dlc (or if from should grace us with another patch soon) will buff more weapons.
I'm still pissed that all the black variants didn't have unique ashes of war, you might as well just put faith scaling on the regular one and use whatever ash you want...
This weapon teases you badly with the Destined Death graphical effect on hit. Honestly the first time I used it, I kinda expected a secretly special “Spinning Slash” like on the Dragon Halberd. Nope :(
The person from the last duel was trying to cosplay a black knife assassin, they even went so far as to have assassin's gambit even though that doesn't really do anything in a duel. Even so I gotta give them some applause for the dedication to the cosplay !

6:00 Jesus this dude with the mist. They really need to change that stupid cancel window - literally no way of punishing him. If you try to backstab, the swords are likely to hit you; you cant punish either, because the cancel is way too fast.
Aside from the gargoyle blacksword, all somber variant to the gargoyle weaponries are irredemeably bad. The damage is identical to the regulary version when infused, so you get basically the same weapon but with worse AoW (since you cant change them). That said, its not like the regular ones are particulary great, as aside from the GS they tend to be shorter than others from the same class. The Great axe at least as the gimmick of being the lightest option in class, but the halberd has nothing going for it. If you want to have the moveset (which is also the worse of the two available ones), just stick to using the battle scythe or whatever its called in this game, double down and get the night rider for unparalled damage, or lucerne for pokes.

The greatsword is actually bettee than it seems. The damage is good and theres the DoT. It also travels faster than expected. Just get comfy with free aim and you get a solid weapon. Ar is also pretty damn nice with a proper build.

The connection thing is shit but at least it can be learned; the fact phantom procs still exist is the sole reason I won't play ER online. You can realistically lose a duel after perfectly dodging every attack simply due to being phantom bled.
