I just bought one of these a few days ago. I was riding a Specialized from 2006. The Ransom is a world of difference and is a really fun ride!

Love the video. So I just recently bought a Ransom 920 and will agree with you, it is a fast bike only held back by low end components. I have switched out to SRAM GX shifter and derailleur as well as my cranks to carbon descendant cranks. What upgrades have done to yours so far?

Did you upgrade to GX? I have a 2020 and am thinking of doing the same if I can find a deal over the winter.
That's a common route people usually go. its not a bad upgrade for sure. I actually went a different route and went to Shimano 12s. I had it on my old bike with little to no issues what so ever. On the Shimano the clutch is tighter and adjustable/serviceable while the Sram drivetrain is a non adjustable preset clutch system. Thanks to Shimano's patents, Shimano is the only one that's allowed to use an adjustable clutch making it that much more difficult for other brands to compete with Shimano.
@@sourlemonsmtb5491I wasn't aware you could adjust the clutch on shimano.. Good info!👍My wife has shimano on her bike, and I have sram on my 920 Genius, and when I have ridden her bike at times I really like how the shimano shifts compared to my sram, shimano just feels smoother, and quieter
Does this 2021 model have a press fit BB?
unfortunately yes. in suffers from the annoying creaks like every other press fit bb

i have one and damn it's amazing
when i climb it's like having a light trail bike
but if you don't climb my advice for you is the specialized enduro
