Love both of your dragon sizes, Sarah! I will probably try to make the small and the large, since I love the challenge of cutting your larger versions, and I may also try making a mid-range one. I have to get my wizarding hats done, 10 of those before May, and the 6 Christmas trees too before I move on to these. I love dragons, so I would use these year-round.

Would love to know for sure what dimensions the largest one could be sized down to on 8X11 cardstock. My BFF loves Chinese lanterns and I know she would love a large one to display but I only have the Xtra.
I've given it a try in Design Space, and a 17 inches wide dragon will cut from 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock :)
Would it make any difference to just glue all the layers rather than using foam layers?
The finished dragon would be flatter than if it was stuck with foam squares, but it would still look lovely :)

Why should I make and hung a dragon on my wall? What’s the meaning?
I was asked by a few people to make a design for the Chinese New Year/Year of the Dragon and this is what I came up with :) I added the holes to the big version so it can be hung up because otherwise it can't be displayed very easily as it doesn't have a flat base/bottom to the design.
When my kids were little, I used to decorate for every month of the year. We did Chinese New Year in January. I had a fair-sized dragon in my front bay window.

Google? Chinese New Year is observed in the States because so many of Chinese descent live here. There are "China Town" areas in most of the major cities, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, LA, etc.
In the Chinese culture, the dragon represents good luck, strength, health and also the male element Yang. The dragon is unique because it is the only mythical creature of all the animals in the Chinese zodiac and babies are born in the year of the dragon more than any other animal. From Google.
