    There is a time and place for both buttery smooth movements and also slight wobble for creative film and video makers. You can always take a piece of wood from Lowe's that's 1/4" thick and 6" x 12" that can be portable and can be placed anywhere. Just make sure you add stoppers at each end. Maybe, Andoer will create a programmable app or remote that can make it so it moves left-right for a certain amount of seconds. Im actually working on something similar using the parts from a Robotikits RE/CO OWI-997 (Hobby Lobby).

    This thing looks cool. You might have to bring a little 1x6 piece of wood with you to put it on outside or on rougher surfaces but no biggie.

    Phillip thanks so much for sharing this tutorial about the Andoer motorized Dolly slider. Just wondering if it holds the weight of a BMPCC 4K that's caged with a T5 SSD.

    • @techone72893
      @techone72893 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This could never hold the weight of that rig. Its way too small and could never hold that load without falling over backwards. To be honest, if you can afford a BPMCC 4K, than spend a little more money and get a proper dolly that befits a real cinema camera.

    The problem with this, is you hear the LOUD MOTOR in the phone while your recording, so I am trying to figure out how to deal with this annoying problem. So it's good when you know out the audio, and your going to use music. But for an interview it's a PAIN IN THE BUTT LOUD !!!!!

    I have this one now and even made an unboxing video on my channel. I have a not-so-smart question, is there any way that i could modify the device so that it changes to the opposite direction automatically every set time? For example, every 5 secs, it changes to the opposite direction.
    The reason for this is I want to use this for my song covers, since I shoot myself, it would be impossible that i'm holding the sticks of the drums then I change the direction using the remote unless I have an assistant to do it for me. :(

    First, let me give some quick free advise. Run your lav mic cable under your shirt. Nothing screams amateur more than a lav mic cable hanging down the front of your shirt. Sorry. I know it's ni-picking, but it's the first thing I saw when I watched this video and it completely distracted me the whole time.
    Second, I would never recommend the Andoer L4 to anyone who is serious about shooting video professionally. Just because it's cheap doesn't make it worth the money you pay for it.
    Just a few observations. A) It lacks any kind of automatic control that a proper motorized dolly should have. B) Its "panoramic" mode is not actually orbiting in a 360 degree circle. It's actually lobing and rotating in a concentric circle, which you can clearly see in your video. It's not moving around a fixed point. C) There's no way this thing can carry the weight of any real camera equipment. I wouldn't put anything more than a super small mirrorless or point and shoot on it. Even a simple 5D mkIV with even a basic 50mm prime would give this thing fits. D) This thing is LOUD! Unless you plan on ONLY shooting B-roll, the L4 is completely useless. It would ruin any shots that require audio.
    Bottom line: Save your money and when you can afford it, buy a proper motorized dolly that can actually be used in all scenarios.
