Very nostalgic for me too. Approx 45 years ago, I used to spend every hour available loading & stacking flat 8's using a Ford 5000 & Farmhand F12. This was mainly to pay my bar bill as I had a rather large thirst in those days !! We didn;t have ratchet straps, so had to use ropes and I quickly learnt how to tie a dolly. We are in Cornwall soon and hope to visit Rosemergy Farm for a Cream Tea so will keep an eye out for you as i guess it is fairly close to you.
Good memories and the experience gained was invaluable. I look back on it with very fondly. I still use ropes as well as ratchet straps, we only used ropes when I was working for the contractor. I had a look and I think Rosemergy is over 20 miles further down the coast.
Great video and nice to hear the old stories and great to see those older photos. Was probably close to you last week after staying a few miles from Chiverton Cross. Got excited when seeing the Teagle factory (its the little things!) ! 👍😃
Thank you. Yes, you were not that far away. I'm always amazed by the Teagle factory, I used to work at the local Ag college 2 days a week and used to take students to there for a visit, it's nice to have such a strong british company that makes good equipment and still family owned.
Good video Andrew it was nice to hear about your teenage years i worked for a contractor at silage in my teens driving Muir hills and fords happy days hope you don't get too nostalgic or next thing you will be loading the bales with the 165 next 😁
Thank you, I look back on it with very fond memories. The experience gained from driving the equipment and working away from home was invaluable. I don't think I will ever be nostalgic enough to want to go back to the 165, it was our main loader tractor until 2003!😂
