I immigrated from America to Egypt 18 years ago after I converted to Islam. I did it because to many people in America were so mean to me, treating me bad for wearing hijab, the way I dressed, called me a terrorist. I’m a white woman and born and raised in America, and people kept telling me to go back to my country, that’s pretty funny. The harassment left me with no peace and I was the only Muslim in my town. I left for peace and to be able to practice my religion in peace, to feel I’m among my people, believers in Islam. No place is perfect, but you have to ask yourself what it is you want, for me, it was my faith came first. It was not a mistake I left, I’m an old woman now, surrounded by good people who don’t have so much hate and division in their hearts. If you’re looking for money or to get rich, America might be good for you, but you have to take a lot hate to get that money. Of course it’s hard to make a living here, but like i said, no place is perfect!

Sister, you did receive better treatment by virtue of being white. An Asian or black Muslim moving to Egypt would face obstacles that are invisible to you

You're right, but read Qur'an carefully, you'll find that the planet earth is wide and vast. I lived in Egypt as a Black man, Muslim, and it wasn't for me. I then moved to Rwanda, and voila, my calling was there, flourishing and happy beyond expectations.

And now ask Christian how they are treated in Muslim countries. Or Hindus. Or Atheists. Etc.
Europe faces the immigration of Millions of people from Muslim countries. Many non-Muslims who can't live there anymore. But most are Muslims. And now they are dreaming of a Islamic Europe.
That's not fair. The Muslim world is big enough for all Muslims. Who ever prefer to live in a Islamic society should go and live there. That's the best way for peace in the future.

Just finished listening to what Dr. Qadhi has to say. Amazing, logical advice. He said he can’t interfere to anyone who wants to leave. But he asked. Where are you going? Some muslim countries have done much worse than western countries in light of what is happening to the Palestinian people.
He also said we need to exercise our democratic rights but never condone any unlawful acts. He said we need to play within the system to make the difference. Majority of people are prone to helping to end the suffering of innocent Palestinians. We need to utilize this support and work collectively for the betterment of our country and of humanity at large. He emphasized the need to stay focused and avoid decisions that are emotionally charged. May Allah bless this scholar, protect him and his family and may Allah put baraka in all his efforts to bring a positive change to help stop the genocide we are witnessing in Palestine.

This is literally crazy. Not all of us can afford to homeschool our children or put them into private Islamic schools. How can ANYONE say public schools in america are a better option for our children then moving to ANY muslim country. Just a bunch of liberalized muslim americans who would think this is okay. lol he’s quick to criticize living in a muslim country but only has positives to say when talking about living in the west? Yeah ok

I have a good deal of respect for Dr Yasir Qadhi and he's always informative and provides a good deal of insight into situations. I'll respectfully disagree with some of his sentiments. For one, I always find it disappointing when Muslims in the West make more excuses for the issues of what some countries are doing (or not doing), over Muslim countries. No country is perfect but sometimes I get the impression that such sentiment is based on trying to justify living in the West, rather than in countries where their families originated from. With that in mind, the one issue which truly concerns me is that the protests are great and we'd love to see a change in America's foreign policy, but this is all political. How exactly is the Muslim community changing the day to day lives of America? Are we making it a better and more morally sound nation? Are we working towards decreasing inequality and improving the public health? Are Muslims fighting to eliminate drugs, prostitution, pornography and other unethical aspects of American life? The same way we support protests abroad, we should also be protesting at home about these issues which effect our day to day lives. There was a time in American society when Christians stood against such elements because they felt it wasn't proper in an elightened society. One of the reasons why Malcolm X was so popular (both within the NOI and as a Sunni Muslim) is because he spoke out against the moral decay in America.
I say this because while some argue on behalf of staying in the West or developing communities here, the harsh reality is that many of our children are not practicing Islam. We see protests and social activism but we don't see many people embracing Islamic values of morality. I'm not even speaking about clothing or the political rhetoric, but just the basics of prayer, abstaining from sex before marriage and not using drugs. May Allah make things easy on us as Muslims but I sometimes wonder about the direction and future of the American Muslim community.

Subhanallah it is the first time I hear a khutbah about whether or not leaving. I live in France but a lot of muslims here have the same question. When we see the political and mediatical campaign against muslims living here, on top of complicity with foreign oppressors, it’s very tempting to leave. This was very much needed. JazakAllahu khairan for your humble opinion. At least there are reasons to stay as well…

Our Beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his followers did Hijrah from Mecca to Medina, it is recommended for Muslims to make Hijrah from the home of Kufr to the home of Islam. Some scholars hold that it is permissible for you to settle in a non-Muslim country as long as you can practice your religion openly and establishment treats you fairly . Other scholars are of the view that the Hijrah is obligatory in an absolute sense.Allah(SWT) Knows best.

What’s happening in Gaza is bad but so is what is happening to the Sudanese in their civil war or what happened to the Kurds by Arabs in Iraq and Syria. Or the plight of Rohingya in Burma etc
We should equally call out genocide and ethnic cleansing when the perpetrators are Muslims. We should not be biased. Nor support the oppressor out of a false sense of ‘Islamic brotherhood’. So that we are credible promoters of human rights.

I was born in West, and had the privilege of living in Cairo through my childhood and 2011 (Arab Spring). My family wasn’t Arab, but I remember the Egyptian regularly inviting us for dinner, knocking on door the check on us, etc. Heck, when I would make serious mistakes, some random guy at the mosque would discipline me like I’m his own child. Whenever I came back to West, I became extremely disconnected. No Athan! No Tahjuid nights in which the streets are filled with prayer. Wallah, (and say this with conviction), these kuffar lands are NOT our home. When I finish my degree, and get a wife, I’m going start looking for Muslim country to live. I’m done with SICK depressing society!

The concept of hijra, or migration, is mentioned in several surahs (chapters) of the Quran, notably Surah Al-Anfal (8:72) and Surah Al-Tawbah (9:20). These surahs discuss the importance of migration for the sake of faith and the rewards promised to those who migrate for the sake of Allah.

Excellent Question: Should Muslims leave or stay in the West? It has become increasingly clear that since the events of 9/11, the values of the West and the values of most Muslims are seriously and fundamentally in conflict. For Muslims in the West, there are many places to go and settle in Muslim majority countries. Iran and the Houthis in Yemen are welcoming them with open arms. Iraq, Syria and Somalia also should be under serious consideration for the Muslims. Muslims in the West can go to Muslim lands and improve the countries instead of being miserable in the West. Muslim leaders should set example by moving (doing hijra) and lead the way for the ordinary masses.

If not, then I feel like best option is just to be a good citizen here, and abstain from all voting processes. Don't vote for no American politician.

In my opinion it comes down to saving your future generations from losing their religion. Because sooner or later this is going to happen in this religionless society. It is getting increasingly hard to protect your kids from the gender / homosexual agendas now being taught in schools. I feel that even just these issues are enough to migrate if one wants to save the aakhira of his/ her offspring. Unfortunately the whole world has been corrupted by these evil forces and it’s hard to determine what to do.

The question of should Muslims be living within non Muslim lands is one which has needed to be addressed for quite some time, decades probably, and it is not only related to what is currently happening in Palestine though that is one very important argument to consider, the fact is the next world war is coming, and there are certain places which will definitely be targeted in this upcoming global conflict, many of these places are where Muslims have chosen to flock to because previous generations were deceived by the false sunrise from the west, it is in fact Dajjal's river of water, which is in reality a trap.
From the ten major signs of the day of judgement it could be argued that already four have come to pass, one of them which has yet to happen is the smoke, this smoke is clearly a reference to the nuclear winter that will ensue in the aftermath of world war three, once one of the major signs appears the others will not be far off, they were not told to us in chronological order - I argue the sun rising from the west has happened, the dajjal has in part already happened though this one will unfold in stages as the prophet told us, yajuj wa majuj being released has also come to pass - as even hadith of the prophet clearly state, and I also believe the beast of the earth has happened in part too, that leaves six, the smoke may well be coming next or soon after the next, we need to start looking again at the ten major signs and the hadith of the prophet concerning the dajjal and the end times, and realize the religious symbolism and the advice contained within many of these statements, which we are failing to understand.
The reason why present day Islamic scholarship fails to acknowledge that any of the major signs have occurred is because of their unjustified resistance to metaphorical interpretation being applied to these particular signs, and there is a general misunderstanding of some major signs also, as in the case of yajuj wa majuj, they have completely misunderstood who these people are, and dajjal is something which will unfold in phases which have not been properly understood and interpreted.

    1. I am not sure if we can ever integrate with constitution or any other man made 'law' under the umbrella of observe what is Islamically allowed. 2. The intention regarding taxes...mmm also wont fly when we know the proportion of what goes where. It is very dangerous and risky.
But the point about impact / positive changes is indeed persuasive.

I love our shaykh although I have started to have more and more issues with his statement. 1 Main issue that comes from his conclusions based on integration with constitution although he says that we observe only that doesn't contrudict with shariyah....
I also consider leaving and there are some points that are baseless: intention towards taxes. I am not sure if this will fly when we know where and what is the portion of them go to military.

Majority of Ashab spread outside from abstracts, fought, & invited. They were very few in number and had little facilitation.
We're never meant to live a life of safety.

For the so called Muslims... scholars alike !!!!
Divine Decree of Replacement : Fulfillment (by- birth Muslims being replaced by Reverts / ppl of Tawhid !!!?)of Promise of ALLĀH !!!?
    (Al-Ma'idah 5:54)
    O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islam), ALLÂH Will bring a people whom ;
1️⃣He will love and (our wishful thinking ; as I am Muslim ; ALLĀH Loves me)
2️⃣they will love Him; (only in tongue ..not in actions ; as proofs of their claims)
3️⃣humble towards the believers, (Muslims with authority just reversed it)
4️⃣stern towards the disbelievers, , (Muslims with authority just reversed it)
5️⃣fighting in the Way of ALLĀH (Made forbidden/ labelled as Extremism), and
6️⃣never fear of the blame of the blamers (most so called Muslims ; specifically scholars of dollars/ sugar coating...falling prey to this fitnah in big time)
That is the Grace of ALLĀH which He bestows on whom He wills. And ALLÂH is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.

If we keep dollar out in this world supremacy, it would be different. Its all about money and intention to change. Dollar can make more changes in the world as it is world currency. I hope OIC could show some courage and bring in their own currency and stabilise islamic world. Listening among themselves will bring change rather taking policy notes from west.
