Chris! Buddy! This was such a fun demo! And i cant tell this book is gonna be fun! Also i love that your in the book, thought i recognized that puppeteer! Great tips, exciting designs, I know this is gonna be a great book for any artist to grab. Thanks for sharing.
Yo Chris..i gotta say am a huge fan! Quick question, is this book available as a kindle or pdf? am from Africa and it's quite hard getting books down here. so digital copies are awesome! i would love to purchase this book!
This isn't necessarily a question about this book...but when you have drawn scenes, or houses or whatever, in draft you make (obviously) loads of sketch lines. For the final finished drawing, would you trace over the draft - or would you redraw it - without all the sketch lines, or rub out the sketch lines?
Yes, it has many of the principles, for for original characters. This book is to improve character design skills. If you want one specifically for cartooning, there may be others you should check out first.
What I miss in these books it how to create an own character. I feel like only copying your ideas. Or does sketching these characters make you develop your own characters at some point? :)
That's what this book is all about. It introduces you, step-by-step, to the techniques for creating original characters and character types - and shows you where to place the emphasis so you can draw in the most effective order. You might be surprised to learn that the eyes are not the most expressive part of a character's design. It's the overall shape of the head, which can be molded to create the framework for expressive eyes and other features. Thanks for the question.
Okay, so would this book be a good starting point for character design? You write sooo many books and it’s kind of overwhelming 😂☺️ I don’t know where to start..

@@ChristopherHartbooks Anytime great teacher. :)
I've just one question: is this manual good to learn how to draw something around the level of Scooby Doo/Teen Titans(2003)?
Thank you so much!! I've been searching for a style I like for ages! This one clicked with me, thanks!
I'm so glad!

Many artists draw over their original.
Much thanks....I love this!
So glad!
I am getting into caricatures. Can this book be applied to that genre?

@@helens.7675 Yes, I think this would be an excellent book to start with. The heads and bodies are simplified, but in a contemporary way.
Looks like an interesting new book that I should get!
I think you'll enjoy it and find practical advice that's easy to follow.
