- A question among Kaiju No 8 fans is why Kafka was chosen to become a Kaiju. Well, what if he was one the entire time? In today's video we'll explore this crazy anime theory that might just be true.
That would explain how hes not just a normal kaiju now, instead, his already dormant kaiju blood amplified the effects making him a 9.0+ kaiju

Exactly! If he's not entirely human, they wouldn't register him as one. The suit would glitch because it cannot properly evaluate his strength because of this and you could argue that the glitch has to do with the fact that they explicitly tell us the suits are made from kaijus! His strength was zero because it was already maxed out, in other words there was nothing to adapt or strengthen to begin with!
Well that doesn’t make sense because in the manga the percentage on his suit does go up

If kafka was a hybrid/half kaiju, so the dragonfly was only half of a kaiju he combined himself with kafka to make him a fully kaiju that can become a human

Not only that spoilers ,recently I saw that Kaiju number 9 is like kenjaku,he’s actually very old and has merged with other warriors before from different eras ,not only that in one panel after Kafka was leaving a temple he saw someone in samurai armor and had the same eyes as kaiju number 8
Facts, the author of the video probably haven’t read the manga. The no. 9 is just a skinwalker kaiju and no. 8 is like eren inheriting the attack titan. Still a theory tho, and we still dont know why the kaiju chose kafka.

hoshino before getting his recent unique armor when it was previously kaiju was talking to him telepathically so by this logic hoshino is also a hybrid. so i think it's not that kafka is a hybrid, but more of like someone who has the dna same as the previous user of kaiju 8 or biologically close or similar to kafka that made him compatible to kaiju 8
I think they just wanted a host that had enough willingness to kill kaiju to match with kaiju 8's thoughts. Kaiju 8 wants to take over the host completely and turn them into a murder machine but to do that it has to find a human with the desire to kill kaiju as well. Kafka is strong willed though so he didn't get taken over, but it did almost happen.

It could also be of compatibility. In the manga, its shown that numbered kaiju can’t be worn by anyone, they have to be compatible with the kaiju. #9 also need to assimilate the high commander in order to use #2’s power since the commander is compatible with it. Maybe the dragonfly kaiju needed a compatible human in order to unlock its full potential.
It says alot about his form since he was able to control his kaiju transformation I mean it didn't take him too much time to get used to
I read somewhere in manganelo, theres a theory that kafka is from a line of human that can obtain kaiju abilities all the way from edo era, maybe a kaiju made a contract with humans or something
The dragonfly just needs a compatible host, it doesn't actually care about the hosts wellbeing and actively tries to kill the human conscience.

I don't think he can, it was meant to be something rare that only 9 can do, he probably got that ability from another kaiju though.

I think the weapon used by kikoru shinomiya is made from kaiju no 3 because every weapon made from kaiju's have certain number which indicates that from which kaiju it had been made.
And usually by anime logic he has only been using one of those powers the whole time and once he talks to or interact with the kaiju bug he’ll learn this and use those powers likely during the biggest fight he’ll have

Kind of like this theory. Like the transformation, but the idea of being like a royal kaiju sounds interesting; however, does make the story seem even more similar to Attack on Titan. Still, Kafka has always kinda seemed inhuman with his personality to have been more aggressive, even before the parasite entered his body. May have a human mind, but would act more brutish about things he’s passionate about.

Whilst I do love the theory here we what I think against it, the dragonfly said “I found you”. This doesn’t objectively claim that he is a kaiju or half kaiju(i WOULDNT be surprised if he was).
Instead here’s what I think, let’s go the officer training. The suits they use are infused with kaiju fibers. Everyone is able to draw from the fibers except one, Kafka.
There are two reasons why I believe Kafka couldn’t. Reason number one, Kafka muscle fibers were already modified by the kaiju dragonfly. Cause of this it’s hard for the suit to recognize any potential he can exert from the suit bc he can already fully utilize kaiju capabilities when he’s transformed, but there’s some flaw to this bc he goes up to 0.1% but I think this is for the simple fact that he a mag 8.5?(I forgot) but he can become stronger up to a mag 10 but it would become increasingly difficult to get there which is why his suit goes from 0.01 to 0.1% he got 100x stronger than the last time. How this translate into when he’s transformed I don’t know.
My second theory is again much like how the suits operate but inverse instead of the suits predicting how well his human dna can utilize the kaiju fibers it’s the inverse where the kaiju that are similar to dragonfly they’re looking for someone whose compatibility with kaiju dna to be exceptionally high. Cause remember they’re only utilizing the fibers which in a logical sense is easy to translate into human standards, but Kafka doesn’t just utilize kaiju fibers he uses the entirety of his kaiju dna. He KNOWS how these things work in and out. Cause of his position nobody cleans up kaiju like he does. Cause of the surplus of knowledge hes obtained as a human about kaiju his mind essentially is capable of thinking like a kaiju(another analogy is how ghosts in destiny find their guardian they don’t what you look like they just know what you are because your being will stand out from the rest and its cause this why i think he stands out and not the simple fact that he might have kaiju DNA). Its why our antagonist struggles so much to understand human and how to be human he’s incompatible with human understanding yea he can still learning but it’ll never be to the degree where he can truly function as a human.
Its cause of these theories that I don’t think he has kaiju dormant DNA, I think it also fits the mold between our protag and antag both are aiming to understand the other in order to win a war now it all comes down to who can master the other faster.
well i think that if he was half kaiju the cells in the suits would be very much compatible reaching high percentages even the first time he tried the suit.
actually I don't think it depends the thing that really really supports this theory that in the last episode when they did an x ray over kafka it was a core not a heart this man (prob) cooked the main plot in the first 6 episodes

1. He’s special and unique among kaiju
2. He took over a human body
I think it might have been some secret organization wether human or kaiju that sent the dragonfly after him for some sort of aptitude that he might’ve had
The dragonfly is actually a baby Kaiju and imprinted on Kafka after a couple of months the dragonfly then learned about love and human emotions

*SPOILER ALERT* Great theory but put this into consideration. In the manga, it’s said that those who use the Numbers Weapon, tend to see the previous hosts. So it’s a possibility the dragonfly was just looking for a suitable host. And since Reno was the only possible host for No. 6 because it was very strong and destructive, Kafka was possibly the only viable candidate being that No. 8 is as much as destructive. Henceforth the dragonfly saying “I found you”
Also the reason why Kafka has great knowledge on their cores and their weaknesses is because of the knowledge he gained from the dragonfly. No. 9 explained that he gains the memories of people he control. That could possibly be the vice versa too in Kafka’s case
