While I totally disagree with Barbie i absolutely understand loathing a film EVERYONE loves… mine was Godzilla minus one- went in totally excited but came out perplexed on how many thought this was the film of the year
Cocaine Bear was an interesting experience! Definitely not an excellent movie, but I found it to be enjoyable for what it was. I said it was, “Dumb, but fun!” 😂 I went and saw it with a friend, and she got up for a few minutes to use the restroom. When she got back I told her that she missed the weirdest thing. I waited until the credits started rolling to catch her up, and she couldn’t believe all the craziness she missed within those few minutes. 😂 We both enjoyed it despite us knowing it’s no cinematic masterpiece. For me it’s one of those movies that you watch to turn your brain off and laugh. Sorry you didn’t like it.
@@BrandoCritic With Hollywood getting more and more greedy and lazy, mainstream stuff will get worse and worse as long as people keep paying. Luckily, indie films are prospering more and more though. But as a whole, it gets a bit worse each year. Hopefully not for long, at some point changes will happen and we'll get strong years for films again.
Never seen any of those films and I have zero interest in seeing them lol. I only saw about 6 movies in the theatre but maybe 27 overall and for the most part where many were just "meh". I did hate 'Knock At The Cabin' though. Asteroid City was disappointing and Leave The World Behind was also disappointing. There were few surprises. I actually enjoyed The Flash more than I thought I would. The Killer was pretty good. Mob Land was alright. 'Unlocked' was one of my favorites. Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible, John Wick I enjoyed. A Haunting In Venice I relatively enjoyed. Scream 6 wasn't bad but nothing special. Oh and Guardians Of The Galaxy was one of my favs too.
PAST LIVES was junk. Was angry with myself for watching it until the end. MAESTRO was a strangely inert plotless film. Didn't feel any emotion in it whatsoever. THE HOLDOVERS ... we turned it off after an hour. Boring. Some people are saying 2023 was a great year for film. Not so sure about that ... Loved BLACKBERRY and THEATER CAMP, however. They had real heart and real humor.
I avoided a lot of movies I knew would suck. I hated The Flash. He has always been one of my favorite characters, and I waited, at least a decade to see a movie adaptation, and was quite disappointed. If you loved it that’s fine
Very valid list, only one I would disagree with is Barbie. I'm surprised to see Anyone But You on here considering it just came out. Also, I've never even heard of the ones in your Top 3 before
Just curious as to why you would think that because a movie recently came out, it would be a surprise? I REALLY didn't like it and when ranking it among all the films I saw this year... it cracked the top 10
@@BrandoCritic Cuz not everyone has seen it yet? I mean I had no interest in seeing it personally but I bet there are people out there who want to and haven't yet. Like I'm guessing all the other films you've mentioned have been out long enough for the masses to see already.
Brando: I enjoyed "BARBIE". A lot of people did, and a lot of people were WAY TOO analytical about it. The movie is not anti-men; nor is it too "WOKE." "Barbie's" Message is SO SIMPLE: It says that a total matriarchy is not good and a total patriarchy isn't good, either. Women & Men have to work together, using their individual strengths to make the world a happy and better place for EVERYONE!! That's it! That's what I got out of it, anyway. It's just a fun movie about well-known dolls, for heaven-sake. It isn't earth-shattering or life-changing. I don't know how or why it became the center of debate and controversy.

I saw the Marvels about 2 months ago. I didn’t like it that much and it’s disappointing because Kamala Khan was a really good superhero. And I just got a bit bored

@@BrandoCritic I didn't hate it at all honestly I thought it was ok which is why it's #10 on my List because I can still sit down and enjoy it but it definitely has issues.
I was lucky enough to avoid The Marvels , My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, We Have A Ghost, The Friendship Game, Your Place or Mine Totally agree with The Exorcist, Cocaine Bear, Marlowe Barbie was ok for me. My wife loved it. Anyone But You I get where you’re coming from. I probably wouldn’t watch it again but I had fun with it.
You know if Aston Kutcher and Reece Witherspoon are in ANY movie, it SUCKS!!! But, oh dear-- it looks like my favorite actress Jessica Lange was in "MAR-LOWE". Oh well, you can't win them all!
I haven't seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, but I've watched the first two. I LOVE the first one. I'm half-Greek (my mom is a second-generation Greek-American) and that movie is considered perfect in my family. My mom still laughs at that one from beginning to end, and she says she can find every single member of her family in it. I watched the second one earlier this year...and I consider it one of the worst movies I watched. The whole time I was watching, I kept thinking, "This feels like a bunch of unused stories from that failed sitcom spinoff." Plus, I didn't like how there was a lot of sexual humor, and the family seemed to be really mean-spirited in the jokes. Plus, John Stamos' character....who literally added nothing to the story (I think he just wanted to be in a My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie). My mom saw the third one and she actually just kept it on as background noise while she did other work after watching it for just 10-15 minutes. I have no interest in seeing the third. I don't know what happened to Nia Vardalos. Did she just get lucky catching lightning in a bottle? I think the reason the first one worked is because it's semi-autobiographical; much of what happened actually happened to her in real-life (she married a non-Greek). But I don't think that's what happened in the two sequels.
A lot of the ones you listed here I definitely agree are bad but I think would narrowly miss my top 10. Some of the worst of the worst I saw this year (half of them you’ve probably never heard of) include She-roes, The Outwaters, Heart of Stone, Hypnotic, You People and Five Nights at Freddie’s
This year was a worst year In my Callender I have so many worse movie that I can make top ten agree with barbie and I hated Oppenheimer and killers of flower moon ,iron claw the top 4 on my worst
I tried to make myself watch Barbie again on Max but had to stop it when it got to that long anti-man speech. I couldn't bear to listen to it again. As with The Exorcist: Believer, I wonder if you will think Exorcist II:The Heretic is much worse if I sent it to you. As for Cocaine Bear, it's okay if you didn't like it. But I like you to watch Grizzly (1976) and see for yourself if it is better than Cocaine Bear. Grizzly takes itself seriously and is mostly inspired by Jaws which only came out the year before. Well, great worst movies of the year video Brandon! Keep up the good work! 👍🏻

It’s not the message of the movie that made it bad. Just wasn’t interesting. Felt like a 2 hour skit on Saturday Night Live.
