Sometimes we are so quick to sought after “godly counsel” forgetting that God is literally the ultimate counselor. My husband and I go directly to God. There are time when I’ve gone to God about something I didn’t like and In a few days my husband would say... you know last night I dreamt this or God told me this... and I simply smile because I knew I went to my heavenly daddy on him 😂... I’ve found that there is nothing better than going to God.
I keep opinions out of my marriage...period.

I find that churches do offer far more resources for married couples vs singles apart from the standard singles groups bible study and concerts. Apart from being told, "No sex before marriage," so many singles are going in to marriage and relationships in general with no clue with how to navigate them. The world offers far more information on dating, relationships and the like and the church seriously falls short on this.
I recently went to a Love conference for singles and married couples and was blown away at the topics talked about and the realness that the couples shared and the singles as well. Stuff the church NEVER talks about: porn addiction, sex, hygiene, staying fit while married, dealing with trauma like past sexual abuse and hearing from more men than I have ever hear from in church in my life with their perspective from their marriages and HOW to date in and prior to marriage. I realized, for example ,and heard also on a talk show with Yolanda Adams and another gentleman this week, that men in the church will never approach a girl in church and I have always noticed this and wondered why the church has become so unappealing to men who are of age to date and marry when there are sooo many eligible women there.
You hear always about Ruth and Boaz and superficial and focused on Ruth's character, tho never fully, and never talk about what a Boaz really is, a man at the time who was single and Ruth approached directly. For men in church, I wonder how they learn to date because it is certainly not learned in the church. And many of us don't have good examples of marriages in the home and yet rarely get to hear from godly couples about the reality of marriage and dating. I have been approached 2x only in church, once by an imposter who was just there to creep and i nearly had to call the cops on him for inappropriate messages he was sending, another by a young group bible study leader who was very immature and moved way too fast and then ghosted. I honestly find men in the world are more deliberate when dating even if worldly, are not as shy or reserved and approach women far more often than men in the church, for the few that are even there and available, and am approached way way more than men in the church. It seems men in the church are not given the same level of information in the body of Christ vs women and it is not surprise that we would come into marriage with a distorted or unrealistic expectation of marriage. Most of the info is directly towards the women.
I do wish more churches would talk about real issues good and bad in relationships for our generation that is relevant to today. Thats why your posts are so important as there is very little discussion like this in the Body of Christ and really glad you are continuing them with your husband. I hope you guys continue this series and maybe bring more godly couples to do the same as it is so desperately needed, especially from the perspective of godly men.

I agree with this and have experienced ur same frustrations in the past. But NOW.... I'm in a Church that caters to married couples, dating couples and singles of both genders. Our pastor is RAW N REAL, talks about EVERYTHING and even notifies the congregation by text if the Sunday sermon is not meant for mature audiences in which at that time they offer children's Church. There are even life groups in my Church for singles and married couples. Join us at www.nwcc.org. All sermons are saved to the website and Pastor Keith has series topics in which he speaks on.

I really feel like churches in general have fallen short on preparing young men on what it is they should also be doing while"waiting", "dating with purpose" or what kind of husband they should strive to be. Most of the teachings I've heard are usually geared to what women have to do.

I absolutely love how you two are so open and honest with each other. Most couples do not understand the work that goes into marriage. It's not always sunshine and smiles.....😂🤣! But you learn how to love your spouse as Christ loves the church. And when you decide to love them... it's not about physical appearances, emotions or finances. You have to make the decision to love them thru the trials and tribulations. And listening to you today....I need to plan a date night ASAP🤣😂! Great video.

I don’t know about everyone else, but my relationship with God isn’t always peachy, especially when he ask me to stretch out my comfort zone, that kinda gives me a glimpse that my marriage for my husband just might not always be peachy as well. You two are very blessed. The way you talk to each other, knowing COMMUNICATION is very important and being mature about things. I've been married for 29 years and my husband still doesn't believe COMMUNICATION is important. At this point we've just become "roommates". I wish he would just grow up and realize things would be better and different if we go about things differently. You can't expect things to be different if you don't do something different. Smh.

I'm SO SORRY to hear/read this. Be specific in your prayers about this situation, so specific to thr point if you do not have the energy to talk to God about this, write Him a letter. Get in a quiet place, pray for the spirit to guide you/your pen as you write your Prayer to The Lord and read that letter/prayer to Him EVERYDAY.....and watch God move. Research some Bible stories/verses about communication and put on notes and place them in places in ur home so you can remind yourself of these verses.
One of my favorite....this one has made me think before speaking whereas before i just said what wad on my mind, good bad or indifferent. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Matthew 12:34 "....for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." If ever im in a disagreement with my mate I am careful of my response because i don't EVER want to say ANYTHING i may regret. He has told me that he recognizes that in me and it has made him a better supervisor and makes him want to be a better man for me and it has made me a better communicator to all as well.
Girl, it works, I've done it. I journal EVERY DAY, 1st my blessings and prayers then i journal my activities I may have had throughout my day or a plan for the day. God can turn this thing around for you. But you GOT TO PRAY! Stay on this journey with the Bennetts, watch her other videos about her journey, they will keep you encouraged. It's not to late to turn ur situation around ands it's also not to late for God to send you two in opposite directions to start anew. What do you desire? Pray about it...BE SPECIFIC....IT'S GONNA HAPPEN. I pray for The Bennetts Beauties so you will be included in my next journal entry sugar. 🤗

Life is hard... Marriage is hard. Very good points. I was married very early, very early bc of a church's misconstrued doctrine but It was not forced at all just ill informed and at the wrong time. To God be the glory He blessed me with the best husband I could have ever asked for. BUT to me I can't worry about the wrong bc my husband and I FIGHT to glorify God in this union. The most important thing is our love for Christ has solidly kept us. But let me tell you I have grown and matured bc of our current church teachings and forget about the past. Bottom line is you cannot and should not do marriage without God and His Son Jesus. Period. I used to beat myself up DAILY bc I felt like we "did it" wrong, too early, but the compliments we get bc of the love we have for each other I realize it's about Christ and glorifying Him. I have made SOOOOO many mistakes but God's grace is sufficient. I'm 36 and have been married half my life soooo I know it'll work but you MUST keep your mind and hearts on Christ and it will succeed. You all have touched the surface level, and it's truly needed and so much wisdom you gave bc when sickness, not having finances, unemployment, children, near death experiences hit the union, and they will!! you have to be on the solid Rock that stands.

Hey Mary my sister the word says you will have trails and tribulations. I have been married for 34 years. Put God first, sometimes be quiet before you speak. Because words hurt. My husband and I don't argue, we take a moment to think. It could be an hour, or maybe more time. Then we come together and discuss it, then we let it go. Bringing up the past is a waste of time. You can't go backwards so move forward. God and forgiveness is a great thing without God forgiveness for us where would we be.

I'm glad you are sharing the work you are doing for maintaining a God centered ⛪, healthy, and happy marriage. The lessons I learned from this video was to look at your spouse from a Godly perspective even when you have a disagreement, take turns planning dates, and marriage isn't just who you will spend your life with, but the person you married is who you will die with. I truly enjoyed your Godly wisdom about differentiating between just dating and courting. Also, truly viewing marriage from the mind of Christ and praying together is key. My husband and I read our daily devotion, which has set the tone for the start of our day. Here is a date night idea: ballroom dance lessons and then have a candle light dinner on the patio 💒

Some people have said marriage is a 50/50 commitment; however, it takes 100% from both. I have been married for 10+ years and we're still learning things about each other and how to handle the certain situations. I have been dealing with a health issue for over 6 months and my hubby has been a trooper!! Thank you for this wisdom about marriage. I’ve been married for 14 years...it’s so easy to fall into a routine but you’re right, you must foresee and take charge!!!

Thank you for sharing a little insight to your life, I do find it very helpful. I am planning to get married soon and moving to the DFW area..
You asked about date night try a no money date around the city or if Dallas has a food truck festival coming up like my city it sometimes come with a free concert in the park afterwards.. I strongly agree with the courting stage for which I have instilled in my 2 boys who are 27 and 28 to do before dating any woman. It is finding the right plot to build your foundation in any relationship. I encourage them to ask the hard question and the most uncomfortable once and the beginning to aid in finding the right one that God has placed in their life..
When you attend the conference this summer I would like to know if you allowed to vlog a little without putting the people there in it but the content of the event.. I would love to know more about such events for me and my soon to be spouse.
Again thank you Mr. and Mrs. Bennett for allow us into your life

I wish I knew he nags too much and soo orderly. We dated for 7 years but I didn’t know how neat my husband was. Nothing must be dirty or out of place not even for a seconds. I wish I knew honestly. Am not dirty but sometimes when am tired I won’t park kids toys but he will catch every toy from falling 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. An extreme melancholic husband.

YAY! A video with both of you, what a beautiful couple :) I pray GOD's best for you both in your marriage--keep Him at the center! Thank you for being a positive representation of a Godly union. The greatest commandment says to love one another as we love ourselves...so self-love is very important as well so we are not projecting our shortcomings unto others. Also, understanding the love language(s) of your partner is imperative. Already knew the challenges would exist but HOW those challenges would be handled are the bigger blessing in the lesson. I love how the pastor said to the men you didn't die so you didn't do enough (yet)...lol pretty funny but so true. Of course, we should see our spouse as GOD sees them! God bless :)

I am happy for you guys that you found each other. I was engaged to a person, and he was getting advice how to handle relationships with women from various "thugs" on his job; and they were teaching him the "pimp way to handle hoes", and I left him. Going to get help from: counselors, religious mentors, & couples counseling is very important.
