    Just bought this same respirator, I also had issues with it pushing my helmet. It actually pushed my hood so far forward it allowed light to leak in from the sides which messed my eyes up for a couple days.

      It still hits a little in mine. Sorry you got your eyes burned. I have been thinking of trying another brand. I was looking at the respirator that Alec Steele sells.

    Nothing to see how this is gonna work,you need to shave you're Beard in order the Respirator works properly

      Thanks. That beard did not last long. I shaved it off not long after this was done. Still have the mustache but no beard. Thanks for watching and for the comment

    You definitely need the M/L size.

      Yeah, it just fits in my mask. The welding mask just touches the filters. I have been using it on other projects too for fumes.

    i run gas flux core and stick all day at work. will the filters in this respirator help with those welding fumes?

    • @GaryForgingOn
      @GaryForgingOn  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are supposed to take care of all those fumes. Pull up the filters and double check though. It has been a while since I looked up the specs.

    Hi i need to know how long do the filters last? because filters are expensive, i found a manual for this respirator filters says it lasts a month is that true?

    • @GaryForgingOn
      @GaryForgingOn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine lasted a lot longer but it would be tough to put a time on it. It was not bad with a bunch of my work but when I got into some real heavy dusty work it got a lot dirtier. But then again I probably went too long before changing mine because I didn't want to buy a bunch either. When I changed my filters they were about black.

      Heavy job usage is about a month.

    • @triggerhappysjw5343

      depends on work load. with my job, we have a filter replacement system put in place so people dont use a filter for to long. a safe bet is every 40 hours of use, or 30 days. which ever comes first. but for the budget, a particulate filter should work for a while. replace it if it gets hard to breath, or you start to smell contaminates

    Have you used this for welding on galvy? Will it filter zinc oxide fumes ?

    • @GaryForgingOn
      @GaryForgingOn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really try to avoid welding galvanized as much as possible but I have done it in the past and without a respirator. (many many years ago) I just tried to have good ventilation that took the smoke away from me. But I looked on Miller's website for these filters and they say they are rated for galvanized but I would still be leery of it. So I personally don't know but I read you can on their data sheet.

      the filter is rated P100. that means its a particulate filter. not a fume filter. I dont know why its the most popular respirators among welders. Ive used it for galvanized metal decking and it didnt do much. i still got a dry mouth and throat irritation after a day of welding.

    • @Mikey-ym6ok
      @Mikey-ym6ok 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaels1527 because it does what welders need it for. It’s not going to be perfect but you’re doing a great benefit to your heath by using. If you’re going to use a fume filter then you’re going to be very uncomfortable welding all day. I don’t want to be welding 12 hours with a fume one.

      I had not heard about a lawsuit. I don't see any mention of one. I still see miller sells them so I am not sure. But I made that video 5 years ago so who knows. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
