I am the “Ahmet” mentioned at the beginning of the video and I couldn’t be more surprised to find out that my favourite channel on TH-cam mentioned my name in one of their videos! Thank you so much, you just made my day♥️
13:02 “you have to wanna pick it up an play it”. Most important statement of the video. It has to feel good. Doesn’t matter what brand it is or how it compares in whatever TH-cam video, it’s about you and your instrument. It should be a love affair, hopefully a long one ;) You don’t chose your guitar, it chooses you :)
Hi guys. How a guitar sounds is obviously really important but for beginners ease of play, I think, is at least as important (body shape and neck). I think the fender looks and sounds brilliant. £172 is crazy.
I go Yamaha FS800 all day at that price point for learning on. It never goes out of tune, has a comfortable body size, has a very comfortable neck profile and sounds fantastic. I think the FS800 is the best bang for your buck guitar in the guitar world (electric or acoustic), especially if you grab a used one for $100 ;)
What a great comparison. The Jim Dandy really seams to speak to people. I have both the CC60S and the Jim Dandy. I couldn't be happier with the tone of both. The Fender is shockingly tuneful and a great size for road trips where you may want a trad sounding acoustic for jamming with someone. It might be one of the best "new" bargains out there right now and I suspect they won't be showing up often on the used market. The CC60S samples I tried were all quite good, very consistent QC. I had a beautiful sunburst one for a couple of hours but saw the black version for half the price and made the exchange; the black version would make "The Man In Black" proud. The Gretsch has a wonderful unique sound and is the perfect size for car camping where "gear" takes up space. It's a laminate so it will take environmental changes well. It's price means that leaning it against a tree for a moment while in camp isn't something to think about, either. You may have to try a few JDs to find one you like, however. It took five guitars till I found one that worked for me and it's perfect. I'll spare the details but it appeared that a few had slipped through GC with some problems.
We bought our girls matching Jim Dandys several years ago. We have played them way more than our higher end acoustics. They just have that "special thing" about them.
Thanks for posting this guys. I've been looking at that exact Fender, since it seems to be just about the only left handed acoustic I can find in my price range...
Just got the Fender CD 60s for Christmas. Lovely sound, might upgrade the plastic saddle and bridge later, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.
a yamaha mini martin will blow them away if you can find one i had one in 1975 my friend bought a martin mini and the yammy sounded better looked better and cost me 25 dollars his cost 1500 dollars and he was pissed
I have a "gretsch" jim dandy flat top ,and to anyone thinking of getting one I say get one, you won't be able to put it down once you start playing. I put a trapeze tailpiece on mine to get a more retro look and to take string tension off the saddle. and if you're curious about "agathis" I checked out some "luthier" sites and it seems that it's a member of the "mahogany" wood family !!!.
I have a jim dandy as well and it's my favorite guitar to just pick up, play, and have fun in any scenario without worrying about my expensive Martin that always in its case. What trapeze tailpiece have you used for it? It sounds like a good mod to do, I'm in the process of changing the nut and saddle.
Kevin Rebong ...it's unbranded and can be purchased from china on ebay for about $4-5. you will have to cut the trapeze arms and rethread the nuts, but it's only a 5-10 minute job, and it's a great way of stress relief in more ways than one !!!...any friend of jim dandy is a friend of mine !!!.
Can you guys shoot some videos on the low end of high end guitars? Like, the lowest priced all-solid-wood acoustics from Martin, Taylor, etc. (for example, the Martin 000-15SM or the Taylor 324). Just expensive enough to be really good, but not ridiculous for those who aren’t ready for a high-end instrument. Or, if you’ve already shot a video like that, can you reply with a link to it? I’d also love to see some videos on basic differences in acoustic guitars - bracing styles, slope-shoulder vs square-shoulder dreadnoughts, 000 vs 00, etc. Taking us through the basics of acoustic guitars. And maybe explaining the basics of different brands’ lineups. I think the videos are great and would enjoy seeing your take on this!
I play my Jim Dandy more than any other guitar I own. It plays great. It sounds really good finger picked. It has a short scale length so it is easy to play. And you don't have to worry about plugging it is. If you want to plug in, a good stick on accoustic transducer works very well through a small accoustic amp like a yamaha thr5A. Eric Bibb used one on Turner Station. For the money you can't beat it.
@@ryand141 The acoustic transducer uses the vibrations of the soundboard to produce the signal that goes to the amp. It sticks on with Blutack adhesive so it is removable and won't mar the finish of the guitar. They are pretty cheap too.
Lee/Pete/Joss: Please remember that because acoustic guitars are now carrying on-board electronics companies are coming out with amps, pre-amps, and pedals designed and made especially for acoustic guitars. This will require proper labeling of various products (especially for newbies) to differentiate between electronics for electric guitars, and electronics for acoustic guitars in your published materials online and elsewhere. If someone purchases the wrong equipment, it will only mean a return and more paperwork and distress for all concerned. Also, would you please do a video for the Tonewood Amp? This is a new modeler from Tonewood created for acoustic guitars. Possibly a comparison to such things as the Fishman Loudbox Artist? I'd be very interested in what you think about this new offering from Tonewood. Thank you for entertaining these requests.
I saw a really interesting advert on one of your videos. Apparently getting your first guitar is often the biggest obstacle to learning to play, so Yous....
Haha! I grew up in Guildford and got really paranoid when TH-cam kept recommending Andertons videos to me! I thought google knew too much about me before I watched and saw that they were just the biggest guitar channel on TH-cam!
I bought my Michael Kelly for 300 its Acoustic/electric. Has a satin top sounds akin to a decent Taylor and the electronics sound just like the guitar does unplugged. Great action . love it . great bargain.
I'd like to see a series comparing and contrasting types and sizes of acoustic guitars, including string sizes, tensions, and finger vs pick for loudness, variations in tone, etc. Parlour sounds entirely different from dreadnought and concert, etc.
Hey guys I've got a few ideas for acoustic paradiso. You could move up in price range and pick three mid level as like your first upgrade maybe 400 to 500, and again up to 800+ as a your number one acoustic. Also I have been asking if you guys could do an acoustic gigable rig challenge where Pete and Joss each have 1000 for a open mic night rig that may include guitar amp and pedals or would you not use an acoustic amp for that and you would have to decide how to best spend the money for your rig.
Gee Pete, you devil. You can make a brick with a stick sound great! Got me a Fender CC60S and I love it. Together with my Gretsch New Yorker, Recording King dirty 30’s parlor and Lâg Occitane has become a favorite instantly. What a nice no nonsense guitar it is. Your video convinced me to get it. Thanks for that.
Nice video BUT... Acoustics to get started and some pretty fancy playing? Would have loved to hear these guitars with just basic chords as would be used by someone starting out! Especially the parlor guitar! I am looking for a small acoustic to carry around in my camper (limited space) for messing around with on the beach, around ye olde camp fire!
maybe no typical country but you can hear the difference in response really clear :) if you have limited space i would say go for the gretsch, it has pronounced mids which is also kinda pleasend and if you want a bigger sound go for the fender :)
Richard Harrold I just picked up an Eastman E1OM - handmade, all solid wood, 1 3/4 nut, short scale, open gear tuners. I honestly can’t tell a difference from my 000-18 and it was less than $500.
Some say 'save some longer for a 'real' guitar'. Have they never been young? Those real guitars are often three times the price of these affordables ones. That means months of saving, maybe a year. When you are fifteen, that's a hell of a lot of time, and you want to play learn, practice, exercise. Certainly at that age you can learn such a lot in these months. I say, gó for it. The skills are more important than the sound the first year. I have been more impressed by good playing on 'bad' guitars than mediocre playing on good guitars.
I'm planning to buy the Washburn HD10S very soon. You guys reviewed it on an episode about 2 years ago, and I still think It's a pretty solid guitar for the money, especially if you're starting out.
Hello! Thank you for this interesting and brillant lesson! Best wishes from Bergisch Gladbach (10 miles from Cologne, Germany). By the way, your guitar-playing is excellent!
Just bought a lefty cc60s however I had to return it because apparently the rosewood boards are discontinued. They are now a very shit quality walnut. Sam ash tried to tell me walnut was rosewood. I’ve been playing for a year lol. Shows what they know. The jam at the beginning was taste. J holding the roots while Pete sits in the pocket.
Do you have one? I do and I don't like it. It's difficult even after more than a year of practice and not enjoyable at all to play. I would not recommend to anyone. I'm looking to get something better already
More acoustic paradiso pls!!!!!! Ps where is Ariel.... but joss is still cool love the faces he makes! Pps can you do some niche brands or tonewoodamp review?
I'm a big fan of the Jim Dandy for fingerpicking the blues. They're also great for modding, and can sound even better with a pickup added. I've a K&K pure mini in mine, and was inspired by a video posted by Kevin Brown demoing his modified one ( th-cam.com/video/im4qKHJMwQg/w-d-xo.html ).
Sounds damn great, but a lot of that is down to the awesome mics, im still not sure if you can demo an acoustic via the internet, at least concerning sound
Alex R i agree, I would never buy an acoustic based on a video, I need to play it. But this is for absolute beginners, i think playability is much more important here than sound.
Z.S they all have such different sounds there is no decision to be made. Just get all three. I have a decent Martin with it’s bluegrass zing, an 8 series Taylor which fizzes with style and is simply a joy to hold, and an antique Hummingbird that has a richness of tone and resonance the others can’t match (as Mick said in a guitar paradiso, it makes you want to play Sheryl Crow). They’re completely different beasts. And anyway the *most* expensive from each of them are special models in unusual woods like Koa tops or custom models where you can spec them however you want.
Mark Stanbrook I completely agree, I just figured it may be a fun idea for the guys at andertons to do, as well as get they're perspectives on the expensive range from each brand. Nice collection you got there by the way I wish I had one like it!
Hey guys !! your reviews are really ausome with all guitars you tell everything about the deapth of each part!! Hats Offf to you GUz....I am Planning to buy a guitar breedlove which is not available on stores in my city I just have to order online...... SO I REQUEST YOU!!!!! Please make a video on Breedlove discovery Concert Mahogany or Spruce TOP....its a beautiful but not real lot of information available on Breedlove Please do a review on that.
Okay one idea. What is the cheapest way to start playing live on a pub or something like that. You have been playing guitar for a while and has an affordable acoustic guitar with no electronics.
Gretsch Jim Dandy owner here. I do not recommend buying this guitar. It sounds like a toy. By far the worst sounding guitar I own. And some advice to all of you thinking about buying a cheap guitar. Save your money and buy a used expensive guitar.
Most first time buyers don't know where to start, so going to a shop and getting advice is hugely important. Of course cheap guitars don't sound or play as well as expensive ones, but to a beginner it won't matter.
I think the goal with these specific guitars are for people who are maybe unsure if they are going to stick with the instrument, or maybe people that have kids that are like that. All three of these are under $200, so if you end up on playing it for like a month or two and then never touch it again, then you really aren't taking that big of a hit to the wallet. And they all play amazing for the price that they are. People trying guitar and then stopping shortly after is fairly common. That line of thinking is great for people that are certain they want to play for awhile, but not so much for people who are a bit tenuous with the idea.
royalcat10 I'm not a big fan of that way of thinking. My first guitar was an american Strat. It plays perfect and looks amazing. Back then I could hardly stop playing it. Few years later and I still can't look at it without feeling the need to play. Don't think I'd have had the same feelings for a 200£ guitar. If you get yourself a nice instrument you just want to play it and Seagulls are some of the best acoustics you can get, while still being relatively low priced. Imo beginners should always get the best instrument they can afford. It makes learning more fun and keeps you motivated.
I am the “Ahmet” mentioned at the beginning of the video and I couldn’t be more surprised to find out that my favourite channel on TH-cam mentioned my name in one of their videos! Thank you so much, you just made my day♥️

That little Fender is great value for money and i bet it records nice being that size
I bought a Jim dandy earlier this week for a student of mine. Really didn't want to hand it over because it was such good fun to play
We bought our girls matching Jim Dandys several years ago. We have played them way more than our higher end acoustics. They just have that "special thing" about them.

I got one of them dandy's when they first came out. Great fun to carry around. Shout out to Canadian Simon and Patrick

Is it me or is Pete looking more and more like John Mayer.....
You'll never see them in the same room together...
Danish Mayer
I think John Mayer is looking more and more like Pete
Gus Roberts You beat me to it.
a yamaha mini martin will blow them away if you can find one i had one in 1975 my friend bought a martin mini and the yammy sounded better looked better and cost me 25 dollars his cost 1500 dollars and he was pissed
Got a Jim dandy myself great little guitar love the old school sound that comes out of it best of all only paid 110 for it at a guitar show
You give these guys anything and they make it sound great.

Sigma and washburn also have really nice affordable guitars if you're looking around for one.
"Thee"
Uuugh, terrible mistake. It obviously should be '*Thy* acoustic guitars'
When he started playing that third guitar. Whooaoa, genius men at work🔥🔥🔥
I saw a really interesting advert on one of your videos. Apparently getting your first guitar is often the biggest obstacle to learning to play, so Yous....
Is it like one of my exes? Cheaper now that Pete's banged it around.
Excellent review. Fun and a good wide ranging cut at entry level. Well done :)
The Fender sounds better, even on TH-cam. The Jim Dandy is a couch guitar that does have some of that delta sound.
Ahhhh perfect timing, I have been considering getting my first acoustic. Andertons reads my mind...or maybe its Google....
DR-100's ain't too bad either, so check em out too. Picked one up for christmas and can't put the thing down.
Haha! I grew up in Guildford and got really paranoid when TH-cam kept recommending Andertons videos to me! I thought google knew too much about me before I watched and saw that they were just the biggest guitar channel on TH-cam!

Maybe to similar to the Fender.

Love the jam at the beginning! 🎸
I'm traditional an electric player, but I want to buy an acoustic, because I adore the sound, what should I pick up?
I see Joss & Pete & I like. :)

The problem with these videos is that Pete could make a plastic toy guitar with rubber bands for strings sound good!
Nice video BUT... Acoustics to get started and some pretty fancy playing? Would have loved to hear these guitars with just basic chords as would be used by someone starting out! Especially the parlor guitar! I am looking for a small acoustic to carry around in my camper (limited space) for messing around with on the beach, around ye olde camp fire!
pete played simple stuff right after introduction..
Hmmm guess I missed that... Just watched again and still didn't see too many 'cowboy' chords and none on the parlor.
maybe no typical country but you can hear the difference in response really clear :)
if you have limited space i would say go for the gretsch, it has pronounced mids which is also kinda pleasend and if you want a bigger sound go for the fender :)
Are Norman guitars available in UK? If so, can you review one? Thanks!
Surprised no nomination for Eastman.. unbelievable guitar for the money
Richard Harrold if they don’t, they should. They put guitars like Yamaha and Sigma to shame.
Richard Harrold I just picked up an Eastman E1OM - handmade, all solid wood, 1 3/4 nut, short scale, open gear tuners. I honestly can’t tell a difference from my 000-18 and it was less than $500.
The Fender FA-125 is great too. Had one for a while, can't say enough good things about it. Sounds and plays amazing.

Frits van Zanten especially true considering affordable guitars nowadays can be surprisingly good, much better than back in the days...
Please do it again with affordable 12 strings guitars.
no such thing as an affordable 12 string xd
Jim Dandy arrived today!
By the way, your guitar-playing is excellent!
i used to live in hagen haspe
Taylor Big Baby
You can't go wrong with that one
Fender by far
The more pressing question is, are we going to get a demo of those archtops on the wall?
Can't go wrong with an Epiphone Dove.
I could watch your clips all day long 👌 more and more acoustic paradiso please 👍😀
Y’all killed that!
Great review guys
I thoroughly enjoyed that!
I think Yamaha FS800 is the best choice under a budget specially with a solid top. Mick and Pete did a video on it a year back i think.
Do you have one? I do and I don't like it. It's difficult even after more than a year of practice and not enjoyable at all to play. I would not recommend to anyone. I'm looking to get something better already
Is fender one really that louder and does epiphone one has scalloped bracing
More acoustic paradiso pls!!!!!!
Ps where is Ariel.... but joss is still cool love the faces he makes!
Pps can you do some niche brands or tonewoodamp review?
Liked and Subscribed!
Can you guys check out the Orangewood guitars?
There's and example of scalloped x-braces on the wall right over your shoulder there, Pete :-)
4:25 I never understood what 'selected' means.
Nice I am thinking of getting another acoustic guitar yes I am a beginner but I am thinking of getting a professional one if that’s what there called
Best resonator/slide guitars
Love your demos :) hopefully you'll Review the MT15 from PRS soon :)
This cc60s size suits up you guys,,, it's not that small,,,
Could watch these 2 play all day!!!
Would love to see an acoustic paradiso featuring the fender California series
What's that amazing archtop on the left hand wall?
Nice Canadian Tux here fella
Pete is so damn good man. I loved this video!
Yamaha fg800 is the best starter acoustic IMO
Should i get Thee old acoustic guitars or Thee new ones? hmmmm
Is double Denim cool again?
What's with the rolled pants and denim
Jim Dandy vs Martin LX Black vs Baby Taylor!
Alex R BTW i think a lot of the good sound here is down to the excellent players ;)
definitely
The mic doesn’t make it sound better. It makes it sound as good as possible recreating the sound from the room. Not adding quality.
Most expensive Martin vs most expensive Taylor vs most expensive Gibson acoustic
I think that they made that video a while ago... I think
Try alvarez and yamaha at lower prices. They beat those "most expensives"
Hey guys !! your reviews are really ausome with all guitars you tell everything about the deapth of each part!! Hats Offf to you GUz....I am Planning to buy a guitar breedlove which is not available on stores in my city I just have to order online...... SO I REQUEST YOU!!!!! Please make a video on Breedlove discovery Concert Mahogany or Spruce TOP....its a beautiful but not real lot of information available on Breedlove Please do a review on that.
funny thing is, here why I live, these are all mid-range if not high-end guitars. these are basically a dream for a 17yo like me lol.
I relate to this. Most I can afford is $50
@@unitoftemp my price range is more like under $100, and believe it or not, there are some really nice guitars for that price.
Hey, im still waiting for the Taylor’s V class video!!
I think the outfit coordination is fantastic! Denim jacket with rolled sleeves, jeans with rolled up hems etc.
I have to have a Martin D-45
SHIRTLESS GUITARS BROTHERS
Yamaha! best price/quality for beginners...
Pete looks like the love child of Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Apx600?
The gretsch really does look like a pasted image in the background
Sounded better than the Yamaha’s somehow. Good job!
You didn't even watch it, fool.
yeah xd you didnt even watch it
Zelpha_ Judged from the intro. No need to get angry.
Zelpha_ 🤣
Okay one idea. What is the cheapest way to start playing live on a pub or something like that. You have been playing guitar for a while and has an affordable acoustic guitar with no electronics.
5:38 I sense some beatles...
Joss is amazing blues player! Damn Son!
I honestly want sound like angels and airwaves
I played that Gretsch and I loved the look of it with its white tuners and satin finish. However, it played horribly and buzzed everywhere.
Would be cool if Pete were to jam with john mayer in an episode
The role of 'Danish Pete' was played, for this video, by Mr. Johnny Depp.

I think the starting jam has no relevance, soundwise, for the starters this price range matters to.
Just save up some more Money and get yourself a Seagull. Can't go wrong with these.
Boeschner on that basis get a collings
Or a Greenfield.....
Wait a second you can buy a seagull 🤔
