Chaka is a vocal beast, the best version I've heard since the original, Chaka takes any song and makes it her own. Her voice is a human saxophone for sure.❤
Really fantastic reaction, Harri! Yes, Chaka does have some serious jazz chops, and one amazing voice. Superb cover of an iconic song ❤ Thanks for this submission 🎉
I bought the "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" DVD just because I wanted to see/hear Chaka Khan singing "What's Going On". I watched the entire DVD and I got more for my money than I'd intended. The Funk Brothers were LONG OVERDUE for their 'day in the sun'!
Great reaction Harry! I heard when you reacted to the cover by Michael McDonald and Billy Preston and it reminded me of this version with Chaka and the Funk Brothers. I really enjoyed the version with Michael and Billy but I think the sound of the Funk Brothers is what puts this one over the top for me. Chaka is a queen as always but the Funk Brothers were really the magical sound of Motown. Like others mentioned, I recommend any music lover watch Standing in the Shadows of Motown. You really see how important these men were for Motown and how they never got the recognition they deserve. Thanks Harry!! Love your channel and hearing all the fantastic music!!
Hi Mr. Harri, We can both agree that Ms. Chaka is Special (last name rhymes with Pawn not Can).. Here is a couple of songs U may or may not be familiar with.. "My Funny Valentine" check out the 7 string Bass: th-cam.com/video/klgNrHZozgc/w-d-xo.html 2nd. Song is "Between The Sheets" by Fourplay Featuring Nathan Eash, Mr. Phillip Bailey and Mr. Phil Perry: th-cam.com/video/kL54q48y-oM/w-d-xo.html ♠Mr.G..
One of the BEST Chaka khan performances for me is the one she did for Quincy Jones' retrospective concert where Mick Hucknall of Simply Red and Chaka sings "Everything Must Change". The sheer beauty of it never fails to make me cry. I hope you will cover it on this channel one of these days.
I do love Chaka Khan and the Funk Brothers. Thank you Harri and Belen, great song.
You love them because you have really great taste in music 🥳💫✌🏼

Standing in the shadows of Motown is a great documentary.
Anyone who has not yet seen the documentary that this comes from, 'Standing In the Shadows of Motown', owes it to themselves to seek it out!
One of my favorite Chak Khan songs is "Stay". Got to see her live circa '90. She put on a very entertaining performance.
