Such a charming vignette! As someone who still works heavy horses on the farm I see these images through different eyes, like I could step through the screen and grab the reins of the horses and become a part of the scene. I was born 100 years too late...
- "Working with heavy horses..."? What a fantastic way of life - hard work but very rewarding, I'm sure - and the horses? They must enjoy it? Am reading "Lifting the Latch" by Shiela Stewert a terrific insight into everyday life a hundred or so years ago. Having experienced the privations and hardships in the early 1950's see now what priceless those experiences were!
So beautifully narrated, I was almost there, and yes 'what is England coming to?' or more sadly what has our England become? Thank you so much for this wonderful glimpse on happier times

'What is England coming to?'....................
England, now a third world cesspit! With politicians Solely to blame! Shame on Parliament!
My goodness if they only knew.
All I see is grinding poverty
