  • GoPro dashcam footage (with audio) of the derecho moving over our mobile mesonet vehicle while parked in the Stone’s Truck Stop parking lot in Watertown, South Dakota.
I made the decision to shelter inside the truck stop as the storm approached. Several QLCS circulations were present along the leading edge, including a confirmed tornado in Castlewood to the south of Watertown.
The mobile mesonet sampled a peak wind gust of 81 mph with a one-minute average wind speed of 60 mph as the leading edge of the derecho overtook the vehicle.

A similar storm hit the Ottawa Canada region on May 21. We still have areas without electricity. Thousands of trees down; countless power lines and poles down. Winds topped 190 KPH.

I've seen massive damage from Jefferson city Missouri and joplin Missouri. The 2019 tornado was bad as the river flooded so that gave people a option to get into their basements and risk drowning or outside and risk the tornado killing them.

I believe the derecho started impacting here around 5pm, as a lot of people were surprised at how dark everything got since sunset wasn't until around 8 or 9. But I'm not sure, I hope this helps a little though

Watertown never got hit like Brookings of Castle wood. It was blacker than the darkest night when it hit Brookings. And it flat out tore more up than any 10; twisters. I’ve been through typhoons that were windier but it never tore up anything I close to what this did. Japans buildings are all made of concrete so they survive winds like that.

DOES anyone wonder why this is happening all over the world and what really happened for IT to happen so quickly. Like over night? Or, do think this is just normal. And, will go away. Ask me. And, I'll tell you why This happening. Trust me it's just grade school science. If you paid attention.

How do you explain the volcanos erupting everywhere? And the sinkholes, and the earthquakes? And the list of diseases now that's longer than your arm? Fish dying everywhere.. Hundreds of dead birds just falling out of the sky. On and on.. This is more than " climate change" . Maybe Read Matthew 24 and Luke 21, for starters. And 2 Chronicles 7. God has always used natural phenomena to punish-- and to get people's attention! Remember the 10 plagues he put on Egypt? Including huge, dangerous deadly hai? In DEUTERONOMY 28, He promises to bless Israel if they follow His laws, but if they choose not to do that, then He warns them He will send every kind of problem you can imagine-- and then some!!! And That he will make what he did to Egypt look like a Sunday picnic !!! And That wasn't just a one-time threat, or only for Israel! God is God of the whole world, for all time, and we've gotten so far away from Him, we can't even see how bad we are now!!!. The Bible says that there will come a time when "men will call good evil, and evil good." Which pretty well sums up the situation today, wouldn't you say??? And God's not up in Heaven, drinking Maalox, chewing on Tums, and wringing His hands!!! Despite what the atheists want to proclaim, there is a very real battle going on of GOOD vs. Evil. AND He's not going to let EVIL win! Read the book of Revelation. But not before bed.

@@WeRHisPoem good answer. But, basically what happened was on November 14th 2016 at exactly 12am. The 5000 Year Old super moon SHOWED UP. And, the gravitational pull shifted the earth off it's AXIS BY 5 DEGREES. NASA posted it. I found it . WARNED everyone about it by holding up a sign. In 3 days the Fed's showed up. NASA took the posting off immediately. And, they terrorized me for the whole year. Now, it just doesn't matter to them anymore. Because, after all it is the 21st century folks. Simple grade school science. Look that date. You'll at least find that. It's just the nature of the universe and has happened before. 5000 and 5 years ago. Hence, Jesus! And, his prediction of famon ECT. ECT. We've been warned about it in the Bible again and again. But, it's just basic science.
