What a great self-made ,very rare all-around talented star. Never faltered using her very own timeless style. Her songs were her own. Not borrowed or duplicated.😂 Had not need for a has-been, usedup manager. She his the one and only star ,,accepted to slow down as not to use up to much of that rare talent and her so precious voice. She did it the perfect way.❤
There will never be a more pure voice with the clarity, octave range and perfect phrasing as that of Barbra Streisand. Her songs will be played forever for us to enjoy over and over again.
THE VOICE!!!!!! When Barbara takes her to last curtain call in life, the World will be blue knowing we've lost the finest presence of a true gift from heaven. I doubt a ears will ever be blessed again with such incredible, beautiful music....I love your voice Barbara, it makes my cry with joy to hear a living angel sing....Thank You for sharing your gift with the world❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yahoo erased this comment when I made it myself, so I'll now try it again as a reply: When our shared God calls her home it will be because he needed her to teach the angels how to sing. And when I get there, I'll recognize her imprint. Thank you dear God I got to live when Barbra sang. As she sang: The best things in life are free.
For my sister. She was a funny girl and had a great sense of humor, she showed me how to have a sense of humor and we both loved Barbra Streisand movies when we were little girls. 😘😘✌️🦋
Dear Mr Gustavo, Thanks so very much for this excellent exquisite musical version of ravishingly beautiful super talented Barbara Streisand! I really appreciate this masterpiece!
If Streisand decides to do another movie album, I'd love to see her pull this from her vaults and include it. It's wonderful and seems perfectly made for an album. Her rendition is different enough that it sound totally fresh now, 50 years later.
Splendid. I think my favorite lines in any song are herein: A Girl oughtta have a sense of humor, that’s one thing you really need for sure. Such resonance for anyone during a breakup.
It's a beautiful alternate version for a wider public. The film version is perfectly suited to what was needed for the scene. And I think it was a bid for an Oscar for Best Original Song.
I'm in shock. I've only ever heard the soundtrack recording. This is better....they should have made this the album version. You are blowing my mind with these rare tracks. I search everywhere for old rare recordings from Barbra. She really stretches her range here. Wonderful
This is so lushly gorgeous. I've never heard this rendition and enjoy listening to Barbra reinterpret one of her standard songs aimed at a radio or even concert audience. Thank you Gustavo for your fabulous work.
Thank you, Gustavo! I’ve listened a few times now, and as always, Ms. Streisand is sublime taking on a journey. But I must mention those orchestrations ! I mean a match made in heaven!
So incredible! I can totally hear this as a more radio friendly version, everything from the pacing of the tune to Barbra's reading of the lyrics. It was interesting, but I still prefer the film version. I do think this would have been perfect for Just for the Record.
Going to have to watch the movie again or the 5th time. Or 6th. I've lost count. The production value: the costumes, the lighting, the cinematography, THE ACTING, the directing, THE SINGING, OMG it is just one of the best movies ever made when you add all of those up. It's crazy that someone looked at Fanny Brice's life and said "I know, let's make a musical with beautiful songs that the leading lady sings," (when it started on Broadway as a musical) since Fanny was a vaudevillian, and sure she could sing, but I doubt she could sing THIS score because of the range required. It's just amazing from concept to completion. Gotta watch it again.
As good as it is I think the movie version worked in the context of the film and had more pathos - but don’t you just love hearing these alternative versions they demonstrate the woman’s extraordinary talent
Beautiful restoration Gustavo! Barbra really has the best fans. Barbra, Marty or Columbia / Sony suits should wonder why this hasn't been done professionally before. So many wasted opportunities and lack of respect for her artistry.
A few great ones were around....this one is just so multi-faceted....and her repertoire covers more than that if most singers, straight from the start! Like Garland😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much for posting this. My aunt took me to see Funny Girl when it came out, when I was 12 years old. The movie seats were even reserved. It was and still is my very favorite movie after 53 years. How time has flown by!!
Sounds amazing, Gustavo! It's a very lush arrangement. Probably too much for that moment in the film. But as a stand-alone song, she knocks it outta the park!
This is my first time hearing this. It’s pure perfection! Thank you so so much, Gustavo, for sharing this with us fans. Muchísimas gracias, Gustavo! Sos un crack! :)
She is the greatest star of the 20th.century bar none.
AMEN 🙏🏾

MY HEAVEN'S THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED YEARS AGO ,ITS THE BETTER VERSION!!!
Can't believe this was never released! Barbra at the peak of her vocal power....dear God, the woman is a goddess!
It was released. Just not as a single.
What a beautiful montage! Streisand in Funny Girl and Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday are the two most remarkable screen debuts we will ever see.
Funny Girl is a Brilliant, and, Barbara, Makes it her own,a,true,Classic❤❤
For my sister. She was a funny girl and had a great sense of humor, she showed me how to have a sense of humor and we both loved Barbra Streisand movies when we were little girls. 😘😘✌️🦋

quite simply the greatest musical, tragi-comedy performance in the history of cinema!

Streisand! A shooting comet of exquisite talent!!! That voice, hers alone!
I always thought this song was so short… and my favorite in the movie! It’s so amazing to hear this version…
I'm in shock. I've only ever heard the soundtrack recording. This is better....they should have made this the album version. You are blowing my mind with these rare tracks. I search everywhere for old rare recordings from Barbra. She really stretches her range here. Wonderful

Exquisite!!!
Another gem suitable for volume 2 of a "Release Me" album. Thanks, Gustavo, well done!
Thank you, Gustavo! I’ve listened a few times now, and as always, Ms. Streisand is sublime taking on a journey. But I must mention those orchestrations ! I mean a match made in heaven!
Well done. Thank you. Great tribute for a great, talented lady.

Love it. I always wished the song was longer in the movie.
