My first 2 attemps were fails ( one with Petec and one with dirko ht) then i used loctite si5910 (used the whole 40ml tube, dont forget enogh silicone on the lengh where the distance between the bolts is really big), tightened the bolts with 10nm (22 Are way too much for m6) now its perfecly tight!! Wanted to share this because it was very frustrating. I also made Sure that there was no oil left that could run to the surface where the Silicone is used to be later. At the first 2 attempts i think that the remaining oil from the crankshaft or somewhere Else leaked to the surface where the oil pan was installed (this was at the time when i applied the silicone on the oil pan)
An update...Just 2 days ago I had it done for the 3rd time!.. It was pain in the neck!.. Used Wurth RTV sealant, replaced the pan too, hope it lasts longer this time!..
@@handyguy6273 should be enough time.. If pan and bottom of engine are 100% clean and dry I have no idea why does it leak again.. What I did different when fiiting the pan I took two longer bolts as guides on oposite sides so pan doesn't move around so it doesn't smear the sealing paste while looking to find all holes around the pan. Yes, I still do agree, this pan is horrible.
@@miladinseratlic5984 I had to do second time this summer. Pan and engine block different materials their expansion in heat and contraction in cold would be different and the vibration of the engine probably wear out the sealant. Good luck!...
Sir my oil sump has changed but mechanic is unable to fit the rod which is attached to rocker tapper .? What is the use of that rod?will this impact anything in car
I am on the third time of doing this. It has leaked oil both the previouse times. I use top quality sealant aswell. It's a really bad design. I think it maybe to do with the raised faces on the metal sump pan, god knows waht the are supposed to do (cause leaks maybe). I am considering grinding them flat.
I agree, it's not a good design, cheap, quick but not long lasting... I had to do it twice myself. The mating surfaces need to be flat and clean as possible. It has been over a year since second time, no leaks yet. Wish you good luck!..
Great video thank you. I was charged 350 euro to fix oil leak, 90 days later, leaking again, i suspect they done abad job at resealing, unlike you, who done 1st class work. Also, what is the "silver wire" sleeve, connecting the two big pipes? Mine is black with oil. 2006 mk6 fiesta. Taking it back to garage Monday. Its the 3rd garage its been to with this problem 😳
You're spot on. I was trying to find an aftermarket gasket but no-one seems to do one. I've tried resealing mine and its peeing oil all over the place. Definite corner cutting by Ford!

Torque settings for the bolts , does anyone know?
how much time did paste to puting oil back to engine/pan since wurth and screews job ?
The next day morning I put oil and started the engine.

I didn't understan which rod you mentioned but every piece of the engine is important and engineered to work together.

You're welcome and good luck!..
if you do this action , Existing oil can be returned to the engine ?
No problem with the oil circulation.

I did this last year and still leaking oil. I think Ford cut corners here and should have fitted a gasket!
Cleaning the oil residues before applying silicon gasket is very important to be succesfull ..!
I cannot agree more, it happened to me too, I've repeated the process again!
I've given up. Let it weep a little oil!
@@armunro That's exactly what I'm doing if it leaks after the second time.!

Does it leak?
Yes oil was leaking, so I had to do this repair.
A year after it leaked again, repeated the same process with a better (pricy) sealent again.
