    Keep the Versa videos coming! Its a great car and seems to be misunderstood and overlooked by a lot of other reviewers.
    I can get out of pretty much any other car, get into my Versa and, it's like now I can exhale. You know what I mean?
    I enjoy luxury cars and fast cars and all the kinds of cars that are the opposite of the Versa and theyre great but also come with a certain level of stress for me of one kind or other, whereas the Versa is kinda no muss no fuss, no frills, just a simple and well intentioned tool for the job. I kinda think Nissan wants to keep this thing a secret so people dont realize how theyre overpaying for all the more expensive Nissans that will give you all the luxury problems this one wont.

    The Sentra in Canada comes with a 6 sp manual.
    If the Versa goes away that's an option though I don't think the cost of the Sentra vs Versa is worth the "upgrade".

    Thanks for this excellent review of the 2023 Nissan Versa manual. I’m strongly considering buying one brand new, but the only thing that gives me pause is the problem with a loss of power after stalling that you and others have mentioned. I know that you may have addressed a fix for this issue in previous videos, but could you explain once again what to do to get the car driving normally again if this happens? My first car was a 90’s Acura Integra, and I grew up surrounded by 90’s cars, Civics, Corollas, Preludes, and the like, so seeing a simple a car like this evokes strong nostalgic feelings in me. It cool to see how much you enjoy the Versa even when you have more expensive and sporty cars. Honestly, watching your reviews has given me the confidence to go ahead with my decision to get one too.

    • @vultureguy33
      @vultureguy33 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The problem is easy to avoid and easy to "reset" from once you've experienced it. Just don't half start the car and don't stall the car. But if you do, and it triggers the loss of power issue, then my advice is turn the car off, get out, close the door. Open the door, get in and start it up. In my experience, simply turning it off and back on won't do it. If I didn't know how to avoid it or how to fix it, it would drive me nuts, but as it is, it's a minor inconvenience that doesn't affect the overall experience.

    I haven't been able to replicate the low power condition; is it everytime you stall it out?
    Oh and I got a nasty rock chip, and I'll need a windshield. Safelite says that it'll be at least a month before they can get the Nissan glass. I wonder if the the plant in Mexico can't get them either.
    I had another question: can you bump start this car? The dealer says yes, but I tried and couldn't. I had the key on and the engine spinning, but there wasn't a hint of ignition. I know how to bump start; I've had crap-heaps that didnt even have starters on 'em.
    I'd love to figure out how to use the key to unlock the whole car from the driver's door as well. I've heard rumors about being able to reprogram it, but I haven't seen enough info to take the plunge.
    I really agree with the 90s shtbox feel. I LOVE a good shitbox, and this thing feels right! I almost bought a base Jetta when I was trying to get this one. I'm so glad I got the Versa!
    I really appreciate you staying up to date with the news on these things. Hope to see more updates!

    • @youtoobe169
      @youtoobe169  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Some commenters have let me know that the newest '24s may not have the problem. The bump start was how I first discovered the power issue. I tried to bump start it, but it did not start and cut power after that.

    • @vultureguy33
      @vultureguy33 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree the car feels "right". I love how it's smooth and has all the basic creature comforts, and modest enough for everyday use and not attracting unwanted attention, but it's light enough that it bring up the power to weight ratio into a "fun enough" spot where it still feels tossable.
      And a big thing for me is that it doesn't feel like spirited driving "hurts" the drivetrain (or any number of other things) as much as it would with many modern cars, with the way you have to worry about modern turbos heating up, oil dilution, CVTs taking stress from trying to push excessively heavy SUVs, tiny engines overstretched and overstressed with turbos on them. You don't need to worry about shredding your tires or draining down your EV battery. You don't need to be mistaken for the "opps" trying to do a drive by (for those driving thru the hood).
      And a lot of the power band keeps you within legal limits so you can modestly "race" around without feeling like you need to be going 100mph to access the power of the car.

    • @vultureguy33
      @vultureguy33 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From a parked spot with the the car running just put it in gear and don't hit the gas and let it stall and that should trigger it. But mine is a 2023, if they fixed it on yours (the 2024 I presume) that's great.

    • @izaicslinux6961

    The only thing that sucks is that after fees and taxes alone youre talking its almost $20,000. Then you add the loan costs and it's suddenly a $25k~ car. But, its a good car and you cant get anything cheaper. Got mine with $1000 off because I negotiated using points from a previous buy, and cash value for a limited offer they had.

      If you're paying 5k interest on a 20k car then you /really/ need to work on your credit score. I know the joke is that Nissan drivers have a 300 credit score or whatever but that's absolutely insane.

Maybe it's fun if you're on acid....otherwise it's loud, doesn't handle, rides like shit, and gets blown all over the road when there is a slight breeze. The shifter feels like oatmeal, clutch has zero feel and is inconsistent...and the most random shit breaks on them - blower motors, hvac cables, exploding coolant overflow tank.
