    The woman has her child so scared of Isis that she sleeps in their bed every night. There's no room for intimacy for her and her husband. I bet their relationship is suffering because of this derangement of their daughter.

    Ben, you seem to consistently ignore the history of the Middle East and our involvement in its destabilization for decades. If Assad is bad, ISIS is at least 10 times worse and our actions in the Middle East caused the creation of ISIS. If you're going to mourn the deaths of innocents, then you should be criticizing OUR involvement, not blaming Russia for the choosing the lesser of two evils in a situation that WE put them in right on their border.
    If Russia was causing chaos for decades in Mexico and Latin America and we decided to step in to avoid extremist fringe groups from taking over the region, who would you be criticizing then?

    • @goblinisac5759
      @goblinisac5759 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How can you say the Americans created ISIS? Assad is the reason why ISIS became so strong, ISIS is what it is because of Assad and his father. If it wasn't for him, there wouldn't have been an civil war, which ISIS exploited.
      The U.S. was involved because of the Cold War. You think that was wrong? You think letting the Soviets expand their control and influence was a good thing? It's also hypocritical that you blame the U.S. but not Russia, even though it was Russia's fault that the Americans were there in the first place. On top of that, it's Russia's support for Assad's family that caused the civil war in the first place.

    • @rmwhite13691
      @rmwhite13691 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "Assad is the reason why ISIS became so strong"
      We literally trained and armed ISIS. We caused the destabilization in Iraq and the creation of the Al-Nusra Front from which ISIS is an off-shoot. If you think ISIS would have become what they are today without the help of the US, then you just don't understand what has happened in the region for the last 10 years.

    • @goblinisac5759
      @goblinisac5759 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rachel Goettling The US did not train ISIS, that's a baseless claim. You need to support that ridiculous claim.
      ISIS branched off from Al Qaeda.

    • @rmwhite13691
      @rmwhite13691 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dude, the Al-Nusra Front is a branch of Al-Qaeda. I can't even have a conversation with you about this because this would just turn into me giving you a history lesson.

    • @goblinisac5759
      @goblinisac5759 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rachel Goettling That's why I mentioned Al Qaeda, you're just looking for anything to avoid providing proof. The U.S. did not train ISIS and you still have no evidence of such an absurd claim. Just claiming something doesn't make it true.
      By the way, I do know the history. You're assuming you know what I know. Which is not an argument.

  • @mgtowmaghrebin7491
    @mgtowmaghrebin7491 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    There's something I don't understand.
    How can it be "convenient" to you to kill your baby? It's like asking me to fathom a situation in which it is "convenient" to me to kill my mom. If you tell me that my mom (who is retired and lives with me) has a disease that requires me to buy her medicine for 1000$ a month, I will fucking do it, I will not say "nah it's more convenient to just kill her off now".
    I would take a second job, my brother would help, I would refinance the house, I would organize my life and do what I can AROUND that consideration : keeping my mom alive and well.
    If you are pregnant, you should organize your life AROUND this event, to prepare yourself to welcome the baby. The husband should find a job if he doesn't have one, you should prepare a room for the baby, maybe finish your studies, or negotiate with your employer a maternity leave, ask your parents to help if you're in difficulty, etc. But the killing of the baby should not even come in question, because it is YOUR BABY, how can you consider THE KILLING OF YOUR BABY a solution, I just don't understand.
    And by the way, this whole "not being ready" argument sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me: my grand-mother had TEN children, the first one at the age of 17, he died when he was 3 years old, and then there was the war of independance of Algeria in 1954, and when my grandfather (who was in France during the war) came back, she had NINE CHILDREN BACK TO BACK EVERY YEAR FROM 1963 to 1973 (the reason it stopped is because my grandmother had her Fallopian tubes cut). She was a stay at home mom, she had no support from her family, my grand-father was an administrative agent in a hospital, he was making maybe the equivalent of 100$ per month, and he gave one third of that money to his own sick mother because his father had died in the war. And they had a 2-bedroom apartment.
    And all the children turned out fine, most of them are high school teachers now, my uncle is a bank manager, my aunt is a doctor, my mom teaches math in high school, my other aunts are English and math teachers, my uncles are Arabic and Science teachers, my other uncle is a petroleum engineer and my other uncle is an electrical engineer.
    So this whole "convenience" thing sounds to me just like the whining of an incapable and narcissistic generation, who went as far as flushing basic moral principles common to all societies since the dawn of humanity down the toilet just to indulge in irresponsible fornication. Not fucking impressed.

    • @lkae4
      @lkae4 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mokhtar Elbachir I'm not for abortion but at the same time, I know all people are inherently selfish and most (52%?) were sexually irresponsible when it comes to getting an abortion. It's just humans being human. How do we solve that? I don't think we can. We can only limit it. I think we should give out free IUDs and teach kids that a condom alone isn't effective enough and that you will end up unhappy, poor and unpopular forever if you have kids as a teen.

    • @mgtowmaghrebin7491
      @mgtowmaghrebin7491 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not religious, but I had a religious education (both Christian and Muslim, Muslim through my family, Christian because my mother sent me to church for some reason), and I have come to think that these religions make sense in terms of sexual etiquette. Therefore my opinion on the subject probably won't please you: I am against the trivialization of sexuality and of fornication in particular. I think sex should become a sacred garden again, not trivialized nor joked about, nudity not depicted everywhere like it is today. And monogamous relations in marriage should be the only good way of having sex.
      And I think this is the right thing not because it is written in a religious book, but because it is a moral rule so great and so effective that people in the past turned it into a sacred law.
      Everything else will go from here: stronger families, stronger couples, less divorce, less abortions (I agree that abortions will never be eradicated, and those performing abortions should then be jailed; I also think that it would be stupid to penalize abortions today and not work on the regeneration of the sense of morality, family and modesty in society first), less economic precarity (because more solidarity in the family), more happiness overall.

      I don't think anyone would argue that being married to someone you love is worse than having random hookups your entire life. But not everyone has found that love or is ready to commit. That is the start of the argument.

    • @mgtowmaghrebin7491
      @mgtowmaghrebin7491 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      "I don't think anyone would argue that being married to someone you love is worse than having random hookups your entire life."
      Statistics and culture say otherwise: in the name of "love" (translate: short-term passion, and not real "love" in the sense of long-time construction), adultery is seen as a perfectly acceptable thing to do in films, TV series, dramas, romances, etc., and betrayal of your wife and children is never shunned or depicted as despicable, and nearly half (if not 2/3) of marriages end in divorces...
      There isn't the beginning of a "logical" argument for monogamy and marriage and against casual sex, it's all seen as being stuck-up and following what's written in "some book" retardedly and not "living life to the fullest". You know it is true.
      "But not everyone has found that love or is ready to commit. "
      Then don't have sex. It's not vital.

      you are truly a fucking idiot. shapiro called the war in syria, a civil war which is untrue. he also refers to putin as part of syrias problem as well as assad. niether of which are true. the problem in syria is the U.S. government, nato, qatar and saudi, using terrorists to overthrow a soveriegn gov because saudi wants a fkn pipeline. our gov did the same shit in lybia because they dumped our petro dollar for the gold dinar to trade oil. same as sadaam in iraq. so no, i am in no way shape or form pro regime change. oh, forgot to mention ukraine as well.

    Ben does support the decision for abortion when arguing at the margins. In other words, a mother's life is in jeopardy and rape/incest cases. I stand with this. Anyone with common sense would agree. However, people do need to make better decision in their life and not kill someone because of x,y,and z reasons.

    Good points, but I really dislike your religious argument on abortion and the miracles of everyday life. You claim to never reject any debate, then I would like to see you vs Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, or even Bill Mahr on the value and legitimacy of religion. Of course I'm not denying you the right to your own religious beliefs, I just think that given the separation of church and state you should keep your arguments more secular.

    US elements, directly for some, indirectly for others and a volatile mix for the remaining, has supported the worst genocides to occur in its entire history but namely the twentieth century.
    Read Anthony Sutton and learn the US role in Russia, Nazi germany, China and how we facilitated both sides of the biggest and bloodiest conflicts.
    War and geopolitical strife is incredibly lucrative and has operated under these auspices for millennia but somehow I don't think Ben wants to change that.
    He'd rather we fight the threat of genocide by continuing policies that only seem to result in genocide. I need to see a willing commitment to ending this deleterious course.

    Ben is very good when it comes to politics and criticizing SJWs etc, but he doesn't seem to have a clue as to what is going on in Syria and what the US does with its military. I get it, he's a conservative, but a logically minded conservative would admit that the US started the shit in Syria. They funded the "moderate rebels" (terrorists), and have directly supported ISIS's efforts FFS! The only hypocrisy in that Samantha Powers clip is that the US (and it's allies to some extent, you know, like Saudi Arabia...) is the real ones responsible for the crises. Just like in Libya and Yemen, and in many other places around the world, it's the US that uses military power to force regime change that suits their imperialistic goals.

    • @TheLordismyportion
      @TheLordismyportion 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiob s Yeah, claims are just claims if they have no valid warrants, but you did say that he's not smart enough to not believe in a god. Either way, what he believes about a god doesn't universally invalidate his arguments, as you said that he's quite intelligent, and it's not that relevant to what he's saying. You can't exactly say that if he doesn't believe something, then his credibility in other areas decreases to accommodate for that. Besides, it also depends on what you mean by "smart". Regardless, religion is not an issue he needs to bring up in order to effectively discuss things like Black Lives Matter, Feminism, etc. Whether his belief in God is valid or not, that's not his goal. He is intelligent concerning the issues he addresses, but his religion is separate.

    How is abortion a left wing issue?

    • @BigBossIvan
      @BigBossIvan 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly because they are obsessed with it. Hitlary was championing very late term abortions, partial birth abortions. It's another issue where lefties take no responsibility for themselves and wants more big daddy government to fix all their damn problems, even in the bedroom.

    • @GONINSANE
      @GONINSANE 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe because conservatives are obsessed with getting rid of it which gives liberals more reason to constantly defend it.

    • @BigBossIvan
      @BigBossIvan 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      GONINSANE You would have had a point, 2-3 decades ago or more. Conservatives certainly are not obsessed with banning abortions these days as there are many other issues to worry about. The party understands the issue, but completely disagree with partial birth abortions for what I believe are obvious reasons. Plus, why does the government have to pay for the procedure when birth control is also funded out of our taxes? How many times do taxpayers have to foot the bill for idiotic behavior?

    • @TheBustaProductions
      @TheBustaProductions 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      BigBossIvan It seems illogical to use abortion (which is not specifically a socialist issue) to attack the left

    • @BigBossIvan
      @BigBossIvan 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly Again, it is relevant when the taxpayer is funding it. How is this illogical when it is part of state and federal funding paid for by working citizens?

  • @wolfofverdun9084

    well Ben see having children does compromise life you once could take any amount of naps you wanted and go out every friday. With children you can't. However here is the kicker having a child is like some billionaire walking up to you and handing you a brick of gold in exchange for an ounce of lead. children are fantastic and it gives you the ability to bond with your parents with your new child and now your parents have a grandchild. so in my opinion abortion is the disregard for human life for the sake of convenience.
