Loving this build. It’s helping me and giving me inspiration for my XV1100. I don’t have the balls to chop mine up like yours, but the risk to reward ratio is definitely paying off for you. It’s looking unreal!! Can’t wait to see the next steps in the journey. Keep it up mate! 🤘🏼
Really nice Patina look there mate, I love how dark it is, I'm currently working on a Yamaha XV Virago bobber and thinking of going Patina myself, love the Rat look ☠️✌️
I meant to ask this when the video came out mate. So you've not used a vacuum petcock? I've tried running my XV700 with a simple on off petcock, and can't get it to run right. Seems like it's not getting enough fuel.
I have removed the vac petcock and blocked up the tube etc. Maybe there is a difference here between the Hitachi carbs and the mikuni carbs. An xv250 mechanical fuel pump could work for you!?
@@iRidetas I should have prefaced my comment by saying that it came with a single mikuni conversion. It ran fine when I hooked an electric pump to a can of petrol. But I can’t get the same pump to pull from the original tank. I’m thinking the tank is full of rubbish despite being drowned in vinegar and it’s time to replace it.
Where did u get the tank from? Out of curiosity if I buy a used peanut tank off a sportster will it fit like yours or is your tank made specifically to fit on a virago
So at 10:07 the bike became even more awesome and at th-cam.com/video/dYpYd8uywLQ/w-d-xo.html your face said it all. Great job. I think you said something about thinner bars on instagram ... After seeing the bike in the video from more angles my vote is yes. Looking great. Surprised you havent killed your lawn with all the beer + salt + bleach +linseed oil + healthy over use of a blow torch ! :P
Haha least I don't have to mow if I kill the lawn 🤣🤣 I am really happy with how its turning out. Think its is looking great. Steve isn't so much an ugly duckling anymore
And if I painted each tank and fender a single colour, such as matt black, is that progression? No worries mate your choice, if ya not into it ya not into it. I am! Cheers

Thanks mate! Appreciate the kind words! I'm stoked with how its looking so far! 😊👍
Might have said it before but the linseed is a miracle worker. Love that deep rich colour. Great job.
Thanks Jeff adds a lot of depth. I love it! Cheers
That turned out quite nicely.
Cheers I was stoked

Does sound like it!
Long shot but do you remember what size petcock you got I only have one shot at buying one at the moment
Comes with it
@@iRidetas ya I missed that you said that in the video thank you. The tank I found didn’t have one included
Awesome
Cheers
Nice build... I can't find any 12liters peanut for my virago 750 though! Where did you find it exactly?
In the title, description and video
@@iRidetas i looked up this masino19... Can't find it! Do you have a link?
@@iRidetas the only one they have is a 10liter
No mate I don't I gave you all the info i used at the time in the video
first one here! all in for the look! I would have just drank the beer and p*ss all over it :P
Well it is an acid!!!! Cheers

Do you need to coat the inside of the tank too to prevent rust? Or is it all good to go
You can mate! Tbo i just throw them on and never really had an issue. I just put an in line fuel filter on to catch any free floating junk
Next time you do a project just burn the paint not all the way but melt it in a lot of areas
I've been experimenting with that actually as a technique! Cheers 👍👍👍
Nevermind I just watched the beginning u got it from eBay

Linseed and turps is great too!
@@iRidetas thanks for the info.more power
I'm so done with the patina on every build 👎 no progression

@@iRidetas ignore my comment, I was steaming. Sorry bro
