12:09 is very interesting... in the mountains of NC, they just closed ALL of the trails (thousands of miles of trails) instead of transitioning to a public trail system. they spent loads of money digging deep holes, putting up gates, and then just started handing out tickets to anyone they catch on the other side :(
Should’ve used the flat fender style fender flares instead of those pocket flares. They look a hell of a lot better and probably wouldn’t have snagged the tire during that flex.
Why is it everybody skips bump stops when they lift their vehicle if you move up a couple inches with your suspension you had a couple inches of Bump Stop
Curious to know how that jeep stayed at 190° offroading. In regular driving sitting still I'm about 220. When driving its 190-210. Keep in mind thats FL Heat.
Worst thing I ever did was sell my 2 door 97 XJ. It was a “Kids” car that all three used thru their high school years. It got ratty and needed a bunch of repair. I should’ve pickled it and saved it for a project. I watched this whole series when it was first out and kicked myself after every episode! Arghhhh!
It’s a disappointment that y’all went with a 33in tire after all those upgrades you shoulda stuffed 38’s and showed it’s true potential and how the motor could handle those bad mothas!
This was filmed in 2008. The credits at the end show it, as well as saying it doesn't take a $20,000 rig. Most JL Wrangler builds are $80k+ nowadays. Some of the "new products" they showcase have already been discontinued.
@@smudgeone that makes WAY more sense then 😅😂 I'll be honest, I got distracted and didn't make it to the credits. Yeah, those gas prices back then were terrible
Public land... is simply this PUBLIC LAND! WHY ARE WE LETTING SO MUCH HISTORY BEING CHANGED? OH ENVIRONMENT THATS RIGHT.. OH PERMITS... PAYING FOR RIGHTS THAT YOU ALREADY HAD THAT BECAME PRIVILEGES
They don't have much over drive 4.10 is good on the high way. 4.56 is just a dad more aggressive than stock with 33s but not needed if you plan other mods, engine and low range. But 5.13s and you're not going to want to be on the interstate. Which would go against one of there goals for the build
10:00 "and check this out" *literally incomprehensible video quality*
Man I thought my internet was going crazy during that part but I remembered that I have 1Gigabit internet and there was no reason for that to happen.
Literally love the xj , can’t wait to get on to building mine up
it's super annoying that this doesn't have it's own playlist instead of having to try and find the episodes in all the rest of them.
THANK YOU NSO MUCH. I LOVE DIRT CHEAP BUDGET BUILDS. THAT IS WHAT HOT RODDING IS ALL ABOUT. GREAT VIDEO AND A GREAT BUILD. THANKS FOR SHARING.
I bet the tow rig would burn less gas.
Do I care that I'm watching 20 year old automobile stuff? Nope. Not one bit.
I know it’s a $70 paint job, but you pulled the dipstick, and layed it on the front of truck WITHOUT WIPING IT OFF!.... #Twitch
No he didn’t
@@FBI-yd6coYep - you got me.
Sounds like me and my sister.
Yes he did. The clip of him putting back in, there’s a blob of oil on top blue panels above right headlight lol...
Always loved your channel, you guys rock!

Noooo, they are ugly as hell! The pocket flares are much better looking!
11:45 the Announcer guy swore XD
I really regret getting rid of my Suzuki Samurai...😑
Don't forget to do unibody stiffeners! Those XJs will bend like butter, glad to see you guys doing an XJ! Love this!
Not necessary on light builds
Like the jeep . Hate the flares .
What happened to the episode where it got dynoed the second time? How much hp and torque did the stroker make?
I hope they put all these xj videos into a full build playlist
One of my favorite builds. Anyone else notice that elk looked a lot like a Fallow deer, just saying
LOL, yep. Wapiti that was not.
you can tell how old this is by the cameras strapped to the XJ. now it would be go pros
That area looks great too visit.
You guys forgot on thing on that Jeep disconnectable sway bars links
I'm sorry is this an offroad enthusiast video or a gov PSA?
That was one strange Elk.. LOL
Did not know Bison was native to Kentucky. Learned something
Awesome content and promotion
As long as you did the cooling the right way it will run forever
Wonder if they will do a sign up and give this jeep away.. if so count me in..
Why is it everybody skips bump stops when they lift their vehicle if you move up a couple inches with your suspension you had a couple inches of Bump Stop
"Push it to the limit!"
You should add frame stiffeners or your going to end up tearing the un up
Good luck
Good job
Wranglers are fun but XJs are incredible

Probably a lower temperature tstat and given that it was wrecked they probably updated most of the cooling system

Public land is a right, not a privilege. Keep is safe, and clean yes, but the public pays for it.
Were did they get the drive shaft adapter
This looks like it was filmed when the Xj came out.
That was a fallow deer not an elk
I have a full dom tube exocage. 36” irocks 9” spooled Dana 44 and air locker. And I spent 6k. Cmon. This is not budget lol
This episode is over 8 years old
lol quite a bit older
i'm guessing the edits don't know what a elk is
Ditch the fender flares...
soo... bad day at trail beats a bad weather i think
I do miss Turkey Bay
That’s actually really reasonable
push it to my house and leave the keys!
🙌🏼
Am I the only one who was happy that they didn't become a 411 from Bigfoot or Dogmen? LBL isn't super safe lol
Lol that wasn't no elk
Beep Beep. I am a Jeep

You need to remember that the motor in this Jeep is a Rambler 7 main bearings engine.
What do you mean cheaper fuel? Gas hasn't been this cheap since like 2002?

11:30 add a driver's side window to the total. Looks like not everything stayed in one piece.
Ya, whatever ya do don't use an oak tree to straighten your stuff , like people have done successfully for 100 yrs...
“Budget “
Do yall really talk like this? Like in every day life?? 😂
Feel like im watching a 70's California surfing documentary.
So if it's public land why do I have to pay to use it? Oh ya someone's got pockets they want filled.
well it would probably be near 10k if you had to buy a Cherokee instead of getting one for free
I bought my XJ for $4,000 and have about $6,000 in upgrades but I have significantly more than their XJ.
Public land... is simply this PUBLIC LAND! WHY ARE WE LETTING SO MUCH HISTORY BEING CHANGED? OH ENVIRONMENT THATS RIGHT.. OH PERMITS... PAYING FOR RIGHTS THAT YOU ALREADY HAD THAT BECAME PRIVILEGES
😁✌🖖👌👍 😎
4.10 with 33's? Hrm....I suppose...
5.13 would only add about 200 mebbe 300rpm @65mph. But, it was their toy to screw with.

That's amazing considering the newest Jeeps have the lowest reliability rating of any vehicles in the world,
I tried so hard to watch this but the cheesy narration was too much for me. To each there own.
🤡👍🏿
Turkey Bay Sounds LAME AF. 👎
