fucks sake man. i was scared of heroin before seeing Trainspotting. Having seen it, and i kann truly say I'm so terrified of it that I'd..kannae rightly say it.. i'd rather have daily a cuppa horsepiss tea and dog shite on toast for breakfast, with Donald Trump, razor blade sandwich for lunch, and cat piss and pig shite for a bath than to EVER go anywheres near the stuff.
same goes for breaking bad as well. I hate it when any government uses such pieces of art as a narrative to say 'drugs are cool'
This was one of the most potent anti-drug films ever made.

Which is interesting because Charlie Rose is usually a really good interviewer, he sounds almost rude in this....surprising typically I'd like him

How does Trainspotting glamourise heroin or make you want to do it? It's harrowing. Sick Boy's baby dies while he's off his head........
trainspotting does not glamourise drug taking the complete opposite in my opinion.Love this movie.
TriGGletyplay slipping into the red carpet was what the feeling that renton felt like.Anyone watching the movie in my opinion would stay way clear of drugs after watching it and for that its a must see.
I agree to an extent because I've heard from a lot of people who love smack and trainspotting is their bible. I'm sure a lot of peoples curiosity was sparked by scenes of blissful euphoria.
@TriGGletyplay um. Yeah the scene with the dead baby is 100% glamorized. As is the scene where a grown man sticks his hands into a toilet to get more drugs.
They like the laughs and seeing someone do heroin. But they are clearly getting lost in the point of showing all that.
You can tell from the way the trio handles the topic and subject matter, the respect they show to the drug and it's users, and their deep understanding of the complex philosophy surrounding drug use and it's culture that this was a truly timeless classic of cinema
I appreciate that interviewers have to ask objective questions, but then they should also be able to understand & accept objectivity from a life they haven't lived. Otherwise, they just try to debate/ argue and can never appreciate 'the other side'. These guys created one of the most emotive and visceral films I've ever watched... guess its down to open minds.
It glorifies film, not drugs. Its a hugely addicted film.

Host came across as passive aggressive. Yes the film sensationalises drug use but focuses just as much on the negatives. Did the host know someone close to him that was on drugs?

Trainspotting (1996) is kind of the only British film that has a different sensibility of language and violence that other films kind of use such as Pulp Fiction (1994) and True Romance (1993) but this is actually the one and suits well for Miramax Films in America.
I respect every one of them for standing up for there movie 🎥! And staying true to real life of it all
this interview is great . i first watched trainspotting at the age of twelve . it did not make me want to try heroin . it educated me if anything
absolute cult classic brilliant British film loved it then love it now and was pleasantly pleased after seeing t2 . yeeeeeeees !!! choose life

You can truly tell how aggravated Danny and co are with him and uncomfortable. I'm surprised Charlie Rose wanted to go through this interview with them knowing that he knew little about it and just focused on the heroin
The whole perception that Trainspotting glamorizes junkies, let alone anything, is ridiculous lol. The characters are either complete low lives or criminals, who are miserable and use drugs and use each other. Also a dead baby might be your best indicator. It's definitely a sickly funny movie sometimes but it's mostly harrowing.
its a shame that charlie rose didn't get a chance to watch the film before this interview and just instead read headlines by people who also didn't watch the film!

The film, at least to me, is more about the influence of friends and the negativity of being stuck in a terrible relationship with an awful person like Begbie
I have like a lot of his interviews, but Rose was sleep walking through this one. The guests were imo understandably irritated.
Heroin was rife in Glasgow because of Thatcherism.
Getting off yer head has always been rife in Glasgow, surely.
Why : because it is honest. I have seen both movies several times- and it shows a side that is honest- death, drugs, negligence and corruption and cruelty. You can’t show the hell these people goes through. But I think it paints a better picture of the people who lives in addiction from a very dangerous drug. I think full Monty, the commitments and trainspotting seem to follow a similar pattern

How could the grim life existence of a junkie ever be conceived as "glamorous"? dafuq. Doesn't the film accurately depict why it would be a bright idea NOT to get involved in heroin? The curiosity didn't end well for Tommy.

Typical Danny never acknowledged Irvine when mentioned and when asked about taking heroine they said they had ex addicts in to help tell them... EHHH IRVINE THE AUTHOR WHO WROTE IT WAS EX HERION ADDICT.

Charlie Rose is ALWAYS fucking CUTTING OFF his guests mid sentence after he asks them a question WHY??? becuz he is a HACK interviewer.
Ethan John Don't see anything wrong with that, stop being so shallow with the definition of a good interviewer. His enthusiasm is unmatched, which leads to the quick paced interviews, and the breadth of interviews that he has done reflected it. Frankly, that's the dynamic that many of us like, otherwise it will be yet another dull conversation that we see so often nowadays. He got the guts to challenge them.
If you don't agree with me, just try and name one interviewer who has made a bigger impact than Charlie did. I bet you can't.
Don't be a dumbass who leaves an insult without providing some explanation as to your conclusion. You're opinion is of course valid, but your hatred and arrogance is transparent, and I can see a fool.
