That was just sick!! Just look at the way those girls were moving!! Just look at how the horn section was moving!! I’ve never seen a horn section move like that!! Just look at the way Mr. Brown moved and managed the show!! And “Funky” Leroy Harper was magnificent in his notes and the way he interacted with Mr. Brown!! I keep watching it over and over. I can’t get enough of it!!
I saw a documentary a few years ago about James and he was a perfectionist in his music and presentation. He would fine his band members if they did not perform as expected or if the clothing they were wearing was not perfect. James said " if you don't take your work or appearance seriously nobody else will either". I had all his albums on....,8 track! Yes I'm that old! Rode around with James cranking out the tunes.
James Brown was the best. I was at this show. Few rows back from the stage. Crazy weekend. R.I.P. 90's.
