Nice video, and great bikes. I agree entirely with your sentiments about these old bikes - they really are a blank canvas to go wild and experiment and have fun. I'm currently modernising a Triumph Traffic Master (rebadged Stowaway), and have several other 'shopper' style bikes. Yet to try an RSW 16, will keep my eyes peeled. Once again, thanks for the vid :)
I am just building myself a 20” version of the commando. I am using a Raleigh shopper Twenty frame, Grifter forks snd wheels. I hope to soon get it finished
I remember commenting on your Emberton video that the custom mk3 Choppers interested me more than the restored mk1's and 2's. 😊 I've been on the lookout for an RSW, a guy 25 miles away has one up for sale for £20. I think I'll message him now. 😁
I just picked up the "compact" folding version frame from a car-boot (£10) Wasn't even sure what it was at first as the head badge is missing and it had been hand painted (badly) in what looks like garage door paint. I am very tempted to do a Brompton/Moulton style drop bar conversion

Modernity is the best way forward to prevent a lot from being scrapped . Excellent design for the day and always worth keeping an original to

The custom show was almost as large as the original chopper event! Getting popular enjoy 😉

Interesting that’s what is great about this you can do whatever you want !!! I have some spare period folding handlebars if you’re interested
Yes. It's surprising to see these classic bikes coming to the attention of younger generations... under 55.
Unless it’s a custom made version then it’s definitely younger people who are more into it
What wheels did you use on the rsw 16 ?
Hi They are modified 16 inch aluminium wheels from a children’s bicycle there’s plenty of them available just file a flat on the spindle to fit
