This is the most magical book I have read since Harry Potter.

Movie, please!! :3 Nothing would make me happier than to see Poppet´s and Widget´s beautiful red hair!! This book is LOVELY. If I ran into Erin someday I would just hug her and thank her for such an imaginary journey.

Cirque du Soleil should definitely be involved in the making of this movie. They have hundreds (if not thousands) of talented people who are already working in the world of the circus. And honestly, I'd be more thrilled if there was an animated movie (preferably by Hayao Miyazaki) of the story, although people would feel like that takes the realism out of it, but I was watching Howl's Moving Castle today and I just thought it'd be absolutely perfect.

Hayao Miyazki has turned his production over to someone else and the magic has gone, sadly. But treasure the old ones

I was in Michigan when i came across this book in a grocery store and thought it would be a good distraction for the long 24 hour car ride back to Florida and once i started reading this book i couldn't put it down. It capture my mind and made me want to read more. This is the first time any novel has been able to grab my interest till the end. It was an amazing book and I'm looking foward to watching the movie :3

This book is absolutely AMAZING! One day, at Barnes and Noble, the book title and Cover spoke to me. Unfamiliar with the work, I researched, then immediately bought the audiobook. I've listened over, and over again. It offers a "safe place" for me. I can identify with many of the characters, for various reasons. It is a story of dreams, of love, of despair, humor, destiny and purpose. Whenever I'm feeling unsettled, or unhappy, I listen. Audiobook Narrator, Jim Dale, (who also narrates the Harry Potter books), is absolutely perfect! And .. I doubt that a movie could do this book justice; it seems impossible to encapsulate all the delicious nuances in a film. Perhaps, if the film was developed by persons the calibur of HBO's "Game of Thrones," or the "Lord of the Rings" films...perhaps, it could work. Anything less will be a tragic disappointment. Meantime... I'm looking forward to the Author's next book.

Such a wonderful escape to a parallel existence...I feel like the
Night circus could roll up at any moment!
Also, I imagined Eddie Redmayne as Marco and someone like Alice Englert as Celia.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It felt so real. I finished it less than a week ago and now I'm reading it again! I have never done that with any other book before. Shows how special this one is.

Purchased two copies (one for my niece) of the hardcover book (different cover than the paperwork) we both loved the entire story, fantastic mystical writing. Heard on NPR that a movie was projected...when? Glad to see the fan trailer.
Continued success to you Erin Morgenstern. Thank you.

I just finished this book yesterday and I love it~ I liked the sort of darkness on the front, yet the mystery within the front flaps was like the caramel smell described in the book. I felt like a moth drawn to a bright light that changes into so many different hues of black and white that I would have to stay there until it ends.
At the moment, I have left my copy of The Night Circus (I found a hardcover for $1.99 at a thrift store) with a friend so she can become enchanted as much as I am~

I am half way through this book and I am OBSESSED!! I'm savoring every bit of it as much as possible and I don't ever want to reach the END! She has moved to the top of my fav's as far as fiction writers go! I can almost feel myself walking through that circus and enjoying all its wonder and smells! Can't wait for he next book.

That's what I think. I finished the book a week ago and after that I closed my eyes, took the book on my palms and really, really wished that they're not going to turn it into a movie. I know it's strange but I like the idea of having such a great book only for myself (and all those who also found it by random bookshopping). Don't get me wrong, while reading it I already recommended it to my friend but I don't want those masses of fangirls destroying my special, little night circus...

I actually think BBC would do it justice as a miniseries, or Netflix. A movie would be too confining and would require too much omitted.

movie or tv adaptation might be good, but in my head (as an aspiring director) I see it as a theatre musical .you can shot movies using black and white lense or add a filter, imagine what it would be like to use lights , just lights to find that affect, I am thinking magic tricks , illusion and interactive stage like in the great comet of 1812. for a movie/tv it would be just another adaptation, but it could continue in changing theatre the way great comet is doing, I think.

I would really love The Night Circus to be a movie.
I was a Stephen King, Dean Koontz kinda reader; but Night Circus caught my attention in 2011 ( I wanna believe, now, that "Marco" and Celia had a hand in it 😉) and still find myself coming back to this book- sometimes re-reading it throughout, others just to read the parts that enraptured me the most. I don't believe I'm the only one.
    Bare w me, i have a point.
Dreamcatcher Stephen King was one book i also wanted to see the most after I read it, much like this one, but was completely underwhelmed when it did. As much as I would love to see this as a movie, I doubt it could be as magical and captivating as the book.

I found this book in a tiny tiny book store near my home and was first attracted to it because a friend of mine had pointed out an add for it months before. Little did I know at the time but the copy I had bought from this tiny out of the way book store was a signed first addition. After reading this I have fallen deeply in love with it and is tied with The Picture of Dorian Gray for my favorite book

Thank you Erin (if you are seeing this, which you probably aren't, but I can dream) for this amazing book. And Alice in Wonderland meets Film Noir? OMG! CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!!! There is no guarantee that will happen. Statistically, it's not likely. In fact, The Twilight phenomenon gained a great deal of attention largely because its mega popularity was so contrary to the norm. Thousands of books are published every year. Hundreds of them are truly worth reading. Yet, only Twilight, Harry Potter, Hunger Games and a very few others have developed mega fandoms. The Night Circus, has already attracted Reveurs, such as you and I, but there's no need to be jaded. :)

My wife suggested I read this, and I have to say, it's one of the best first novels I've read in quite a while. The style of writing reminded me of Charles Dickens, or as they are inspired by his style of writing, John Irving or Robertson Davies.

To be perfectly honest I only enjoyed the book until I got about half way, and then it just got boring... I just felt that the characters and plot were uninteresting after that, and there was very little character development.
The scenery would be amazing for a film (and was the best part of the book), but a great setting doesn't automatically make it a good book.

It's no wonder she named the character 'Hector' then, like Hector Barbossa from Pirates of the Caribbean. Or she named the character Hector and thought of Geoffrey after because he had played another Hector.

this book was just bleh to me, idk understand why so many people are obssesed with it. i feel very little for the characters and there is no suspence or plot. normally thats not a deal breaker but what was there was not enough to suffice for a good book. i do agree that this book would make a brilliant movie that i would watch but as a book....bleh.
