Been playing her the last few days but... Don't get her recovery! If she falls facing away the stage she sometimes does things I don't expect! Should you jump before up special to control it? So confused!!
My biggest issue when messing around with Rosalina as a beginner is her Up-B recovery. Much like Diddy and Lucario, I found it to be potentially good in the right hands, but way to prone to SD's for inexperienced players. When trying to shoot vertically upward for the edge, it often would direct slightly away from the ledge (i.e. when below the right ledge, it would go in a 1-o-clock direction rather than a 12-o-clock direction) and then it's all over. I find it very difficult to want to play a character when I don't have full confidence in my ability to recover with them. Low-percent SD's are so demoralizing that I would say it might even be the most important consideration for a beginner with a character. For balance, my favourite Rosalina move was her short-hop Fair. As a Zelda main, the ease with which it could hit (both in terms of the large size of hitbox, and how long the move was active) just made be jealous. Even Rosalina's mediocre Dair is way easier to hit than Zelda's too.
When you said that you can have luma out then if it gets hit you can run up and dsmash you want to wait a little bit so Luma doesn't extend the hitbox and hit you right?
I'm trying out new characters in sm4sh to play with friends. I know Rosa was much better in that game than Ultimate. Does most or even any of this stuff also apply to SSB4 as well?
