Thanks enormously for your help. I followed your route, though I didn't need to take off the big fuel pipes. Mine was leaking fuel when running, and it turned out that a thin pipe - possibly a pump return - goes into a hole at the top of the tank, and it had become disconnected. Fiddling around caused another small pipe on the primer to come off, and that needed reconnecting too.
These generators turn out to be sold around the world under different names. Mine is a Wolf 950 in the UK. It's working fine again now.

That thing on the carburetor that you called "enricher" is undoubtedly the throttle control motor for eco mode. The manual calls it the stepper motor.

I have two of these arriving from Tractor Supply tomorrow. This video was a great reference for me, thanks. I plan to perform a DIY dual fuel conversion on the pair. Little known fact, these generators use the exact same motor and inverter as the Sportsman GEN1000i-PL "parallel ready" model that sells for twice the price. The non-ready models can be actually paralleled with a DIY parallel cable for under $20 in parts.

@@yeagerra I couldn't get the dual fuel conversion to work well so I abandoned the project. I did end up building the DIY parallel cable with two 5-15P plugs to a TT-30R receptacle. Its works great with my travel trailer.

I have the same thing under the name Krafter. 220V, 700 watts. First two units returned after failure. Third one has 1600 hours. Changed Stepper motor, they call it the governor, and replaced carb membrane ( identical to Stihl 025 membrane). Still works. Great job, thanks!

Far better vid than any useless 'unboxing' vid.
I recently bought this same generator on sale for $150, haven't even put oil in it or started it, so I also did a disassembly, as you did.
My main reason for the teardown was that my manual lists the inverter at 700 watts, tho the box & gen stickers say 800 running watts.
I've seen several of these generators only be able to put out about 650-675 watts, so I suspect those inverters only had 700 watt capacity.
Anyhow, I could not find any capacity rating or part number on my inverter to know if it's actually a 800 watt capacity or not.
I'll just put it back together, add oil, and do a load test on the gen when it is running.
Before doing that tho, I'll be designing a way to have a small 'rod' of high-temp neodymium magnets in the oil sump to trap all the break-in metal particles so they don't circulate in the engine oil.

    • @Ericslabaugh
      @Ericslabaugh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I wish you the best. My goal was to show people what in side the cheaper gens. Just cause you can't afford $800-1000 doesn't mean you can find something to make you happy.

I live in Norway, and have the same generater, but with another brand. All parts are identic as in this video. Mine is 230 volts, and 700 w. I have had it for more than a year, in a caravan. Most for computer lights and a powerful battery charger. It has worked perfect until lately. Now it will only run in choke mode, and i suspect some dirt came into the tang, when filling gas without the filter in the tank. I disassemled the carb, but couldnt find any issue. Somewhere it seem to limite the gas flow. Now after 15 monts even without an oilchange, i found the issue. First i eptied the gas in the tank, next i pressed gas bakwards in the hose of the carb about 5 times to clean the filter inside the hose. but the issue was dirt buildt up in the small mash filter inside the carb, next to the diafragm pump. Now it run perfect.

I have one of these under the name of auto jack , it's an 800 inverter,
I change the spark plug for an NGK apparently the ones that are in there are not that good, I change the oil every 20 hours as specified in the manual, and I only use shell motor oil magnotic , around about 9 months into use it started labouring on tikover then after a while it started doing the same thing whilst I was charging my battery,
I have had experience mechanically with motorcycles not a great deal but enoug to take a carburettor apart ,
Looking at the inside of these things frightened's me to deth 🙈
anyway I had to make a choice between sending off trying to get it fixed or having a look my self, anyway doing as much homework as I could on the internet,
I attempted to take the carburettor out to my surprise it wasn't that hard I unscrewed the four screws holding it together, and one of the gaskets pulled back and broke, I thought that's it I've buggered it all ready 😟
As it was I only took the bottom bit
of the carburettor a part inside with a strange arrangement of rubber suction pads needle and I kind of a float on further inspection I noticed there was a little round filter with a fine wire mesh ,
It was totally blocked with some sort of fibre and very fine iron filings, I cleaned this out and reconstructed my own gasket with wood glue , never had any gasketsel and the bits I had left ,I put it back together and to my amazement it started up and it's been working fine, I hope this helps anybody who has the same problem thanks,

@@user-gi3xj8nz3s hi sorry no I haven't , just take the four screws out of the bottom of the carburettor, this comes away like a little Square aluminium block there is a big circle in the middle which houses a needle and like a paddle thing that goes up and down which controls the needle
just opposite to this is another small hole about the size of a small shirt button this is where the fine wire mesh filter is and that's where I found the blockage, the other side of the carburettor had some sort of rubber flange I didn't go in there, hope you get it fixed, thanks

I've been through a couple of these and found two issues: stepper motor failure, won't adjust rpm to demand. These things are cheap and you can take the numbers off the stepper to find replacement. The thing I just did was replace membrane in carb, the one you see when you take the four phillips screws off the little metal plate. I replaced it with one of my Stihl 025 Walbro membranes. Works fine.

Hey! I wanted to comment on the video about the gateway laptop but couldn't cause TH-cam disabled comments cause its [[[[people who are not adults, but i will not say it cause TH-cam will scan this comment and probably lock this video's comment section too]]]] content??
Anyway, thank you for being the ONLY channel in the ENTIRETY of TH-cam AND INTERNET to document the internals of this laptop lol
It's currently on sale at micro-center for 430$ and I'm seriously considering buying it.
Glad you cleared up the doubts about 2 m.2 drives, and dual channel RAM. Both SSD and RAM being Samsung seems reassuring!
The Jank factor is up to a 11 tho lol, SATA connector is just taped down lmao.
I've read on recent Q/A on MC sale page that we can actually upgrade the battery. But the larger one will cover the empty SATA slot.
I'm actually shocked that the GPU is not 40W! I was fully expecting this to be a 40W setup.
Also, what a coincidence, i used to be an SC player too lol , stopped playing before they released the patch with the gas giant. My 1060 cannot handle the game properly.
Can you make a review about this laptop now? its been over a year, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about it. I've read all the reviews and posts on gateway's website and micro-center, few people are complaining about CPU becoming too hot and making it feel like the plastic will just melt away. Does it come with preinstalled bloatware? If you replaced thermal paste, did you see any difference? Did the cooling pad help? Did you make that 3D printed setup?
I have soooo many questions. My main concern is overheating. The only reason i haven't gotten it yet is because i want to know if the temps can be manageable by new paste and a cooling pad. Laptop seems to have adequate copper. Yours is the only source i have for this!
