Keep on doing what you're doing, please!!! We enjoy it so much!! 🙏🙏😆

Thank you for your reaction! Dimash’s talent is mind blowing 🤯 A'Studio was invited by Igor Krutoy to participate (individual concert) in the 2018 edition of the New Wave festival. Igor Krutoy, the man in white shirt giving his standing ovation, invited Dimash to participate in this festival in the same year. "Sinful Passion" was created in 1998. This is how the song was performed, exactly in the 20th anniversary of this song. It speaks of greater love, greater loss, greater despair, greater desire, greater passion. The loss or lack of this love, in Dimash's interpretation, has the dimension of a loss of life, which one is very anxious to restore. In place of the original purely pop instrumental part (inserts), Dimash included (after the last chorus) his vocalize, a stylized onomatopoeic (like a lament) eastern ornament and the words "дай мне, дай" (give me, give me) with a 23-second melismatic on the last syllable, which is not a simple substitute for a pop musical theme, but an extension of the story sung earlier in words. ❤️🎤🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏

Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique (traditional cazaq singing, called Joqtaw), is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist: Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

Hello! :) I can't tell you how much I looove your video analyses! :) They are so amazingly detailed, thank you veeery much! :) Because you asked for the name of this ethnic vocalisation he does there: Dimash's father (who is a also member of his professional team) was once asked about it and he said it was a Yakutian riff. The Yakuts are the indigenous population (and nowadays ethnic minority)of/ in the North-Eastern Russian region Sakha (formally known as Yakutia). I had never heard about Yakutian ("ancient") ethnic music before and decided to look it up when I heard about it. It's reaaally amazing what they do and sth so unusual, they really do things with the voice I had never heard before. Listening to this kind of takes you to a different world. They are for example really good in imitating sounds of nature with their voice, and they also play mouth harp, it's really interestig. I also found examples of that riff shown by Dimash here, but he does it much faster than usual). Thank you so much, I really hope to see more Dimash reactions from you :) Best wishes from Estonia

Please continue knowing him, he will surprise you each time.
I recommed "Know" Sochi 2019 version. "Love is like a dream" at the Kremlin. The most recent are "Your love" and "Across endless dimensions" studio version, not alive yet because is the OTS of the film Creators, the past.
Besides, you have an inmense repertoire to watch from 2017 when he participated in the chinese contest "The Singer": SOS, Adagio, Ópera 2, Hello, Show must go on, Confessa+Diva Dance, Daididau, Unforgettable Day, etc.

That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia. This particular one was based on an Irkutsk folk style. Further youtubers have commented that it is used some parts of the Middle East. It is also referred to as a "glottal stop" and used in English when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu', You can hear it from the Turan Group. That seems to be a rumor though spread by someone who has nothing to do with Dimash in a comment section on YT who just assumed that it's probably Kazakh. Dimash's father said on several different occasions (e.g. in a personal chat with an admin of the European fan club in Sochi directly after the performance, in a PM chat on FB to someone from the US fan club and also publicly on his Instagram when he was asked about it) that this was a technique from Yakutian folk music

Of the deeply analytical voice teachers that exist, you are actually fun to listen to, great enthusiam. I enjoy it, stay unique. I suggest reactions to SOS d'un terrien en détresse, the song that put him on the international map. Adagio as well, Singer 2017 version on both (excellent band and choir, really good lights). Possible copyright issues but I think you stop/rewind enough to avoid that easily. Plus the current season of The Singer should be wrapping up, and it's said they don't bother you in the offseason.

The lead singer passed away in 2015. The riff was an omage to him! (I apologize for my english, my mother language is greek). Hopefully I will see more Dimash reactions from you, sir. BTW, the style he is hinting at a bit is Ala Turka. In the Middle East the scale sets and ornaments are known as makam. In India they are gamak. There are So many variants in each style. It is a Deep hole for a western vocalist/musician to go down, but it is quite fascinating. In both instances it is the vocalist's attempt to mimic sounds made by traditional instruments. See below for a Really spot on and specific description, too. You learn something new every day! Believe me, I've only barely scratched the surface myself!😳

(Btw, Dimash’s mom is a famous opera soprano singer in Kazakhstan and his dad is a pop singer, songwriter and producer. His grandfather is a laureate of Kazakhstan at dombra playing, and Dimash has got an absolute hearing. One movie director who had cooperated with Dimash (Di made a soundtrek for his movie) has said about him that in an orchestra where there are 300 musicians, Dimash can hear who did not hit a note.

Thank you for your reaction and analysis. It is always a learning experience to listen to someone break the song down to technique. I will say when you react to Dimash, it is a "call to arms" for Dears (what Dimash calls his fans), and they will respond. Heads up, more will be arriving. 😂😂 He does sing with his entire self, and his hands are fascinating to watch when he sings. They sing with him, almost directing where he goes from the start to the end of a song. In an interview with Dimash's dad Kanat, he said, "In creativity, Dimash is very meticulous. He sings a song for a long time, passes it through his soul, rethinks it in order to feel emotion, and only when he is convinced that the song is ripened, he can sing it through is own vision." I believe it. Watching him sing it appears the song comes from his soul. I did laugh again with one of your comments "Ok! Where are we...Hello!" 😂😂 Stay safe! Blessings to you!

P.S. that was a 23 second run he did, one of his longest ever notes! There's a compilation video with a bunch of his longest notes, mostly from much earlier in his career on international tv shows etc. And the guy in the white shirt that stands up at the end is Russian composer Igor Krutoy, who wrote Ogni Pietra (and other songs) specifically for Dimash!

The piano player here, is an original member of the band. “Sinful Passion” ("Greshnaya Strast” in Russian) was first time performed by the band in 1998.Batyrkhan Kamaluly Shukenov was a singer, musician, composer, and poet. After leaving the group in 2000, Batyrkhan began his solo career. . Unfortunately Batyrkhan Shukenov died at age 52 from a heart attack. I was looking for another reaction to this song. I usually stay away from critics but you looked interesting. And you were, best review and critic on this song. None of the coaches had brought out the vocal fry octave jump. I knew the fry when I heard it from this song by dimashs, but I certainly didn’t know what was happening. I’ve heard a lot of vocal coaches on this one but never the details you gave. When I got thru the song several times I determined that it was the most technical song written and performed. First of all it’s in Russian. Many of those words at the beginning that were crammed into a phrase were much like hip hop. But his pronunciation of the language was unbelievable. But, I’ve tried to think of either a male or female singer that could duplicate everything he did. Not only him but AStudio musicians and what their sound guy had to do to keep up with dimashs. I also thought dimashs had outdone himself. That even he couldn’t repeat the performance until I saw him doo it at one of his concerts. Stilll a top notch performance and a different bonus ending. Thanx loved it.
