  • Description: This Chevy Blazer 98 4x4 w New venture 233 transfer case had the 4x4 not working. The system can be viewed in 2 parts, the computer controlled parts, which actuate the transfer case and locks the front drive shaft in. And part 2, the mechanical, which involves vacuum actuated and controlled parts. And to check transfer case fluid level after repairs, to verify other problems. Like the front input seal being bad in the transfer case causing it to be overfilled. And infiltration of transmission fluid into the vacuum system because of a bad vacuum switch and or overfilled with fluid. The fluid will actually get into all of the vacuum related components in the engine compartment eventually.

Attention home mechanics; if you ever remove a battery tray from your own vehicle, before reinstall, do corrosion clean up and repaint. This is fundamental. Rust/corrosion never sleep. Battery tray likely the most corrosion prone part on any vehicle.
Save you from buying a new one or at least buy you more time.

Hello, used O2 sensor socket, it's thin wall deep socket fits perfect + the socket protects the hose connections!

Witch one of the 3 vacuum lines off the switch goes to the actuator ? changed the switch, was bad the ball was stuck in. still have no vacuum to the actuator.. sometimes just enough vacuum to hold a small piece of paper.

Prob a broken vac line, between intake and the switch. Thanks for watching

If you place the index pin at the noon position and then proceed clockwise the lines are: (1) vacuum supply - terminates near the firewall (2 o’clock position); (2) actuator (the 6 o’clock position); (3) vent hose (10 o’clock position).

My vehicle is stuck in 4 wheel low. I put it in neutral and push the 2 wheel button but it just keeps blinking and stays in 4 wheel

My four-wheel-drive blazer just stopped working and started making noise when put into park and would not engage in park or any gear. Tour through transmission and no problems there has to be a transfer case does anybody have an idea of what could’ve went wrong

You will need to be more specific on the symptoms you are having. Like, is it the 4x4 thats not working?, does it move at all, in any gear, does Park gear work? Does it have all 4 of the same size/ brand tires on it? (CRITICAL) As I have seen a 2-1/2" difference in tire diameter between same size tire and a different manufacturer of them. And this size variance will destroy the differential units, for one thing. And what is the year, engine size, and mileage on the vehicle.
