    I really like how clear-cut your videos are for instruction. Good job! I'm just waiting on my stock shock extension bracket for my Metal Cloak 3.5" Dual Rate Lift. I was thinking I was going to get the Teraflex Falcon Piggyback 3.2 Shocks; wife said nope, you're waiting. So stock shocks until July. I was able to get the Method Race MR106 beadlock wheels wrapped in 35" Nitto Trail Grapps. It's a start. Thanks for your content, it's really appreciated.

    Watched ur video to see how tight the rear track bar bracket goes on. Def took a bit of hammering to get it into place on my Jeep. MC stuff usually fits like a glove. I think they may have their dimensions slight off on this piece.

      Actually on my 13 JKUR the track bar mounting location looks different than yours. This bracket isn't going to work. I'm going to have to call MC on Monday.

    Hello... awesome video thank you
    I believe that is the lift that I have in my jk 2018, I had been trying to find out which one I have on my JK ...
    A few days ago I noticed they one of the rear upper arm the screw is not tied so my question is, I just tie just lime that or there is something that I have to be aware of?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing to be aware of. Just tighten it back up to the required specification. You can use blue loctite if needed.

      @@TheBFHGarage I, too, am very grateful for the confidence your clear video gives me. Thank you. Do you use blue loctite on all of the bolts at the end? And do you get the torque specs from an instruction sheet from Metalcloak?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leewill1276 I use blue loc-tite once everything has been adjusted correctly. When using loc-tite, you need to reduce your torque spec by ~10%. You can look up torque specs by bolt size and grade. If they are posted inn the directions then use those.

    Awesome walk through. Is there an improvement in ride, stability, handling?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd have to ask the owner. I'm sure there is since the suspension is new.

    One of the most detailed and helpful installation videos I've seen. Thank you so much. Was a driveshaft replacement not required with this kit?

  • @joebrown2699
    @joebrown2699 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Outstanding installation video series. What sizes tires were in the finished product? What sizes tires do you recommend for a JKU with this lift?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This Jeep settled on 35" tires. There are far more factors than a simple lift to decide which tire size is appropriate. If you beef up the axles a little and go with deeper gears and appropriately backspaced wheels then you can run bigger tires.

    Excellent videos. I still haven't seen any videos where they show and explain the final adjustment of caster and pinion angle adjustment. Is that something the alignment shop does? And if so, do they unbolt one end of the control arm and make them longer or shorter, then reinstall?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, a couple different thoughts on this. The first is maintaining a correct caster angle based on stock specs. The problem with that is, is that it can cause driveline vibrations because the drive shaft isn't straight like it needs to be. So you have one of two options, the first one setting your caster at spec or adjusting your pinion angle until your driveline vibrations go away and the caster will be what it is at that point. My personal belief is that pinion angle takes precedence overcaster so you don't have driveline vibrations. And yes the way to adjust pinion angle is to lengthen or shorten your control arms based on what direction it needs to go.

    Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge! Curious about the final torquing process. Did you put the tires on to torque?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't matter if the tires are on or not as long as the axle is on jack stands allowing the weight of the vehicle to rest on the springs. You CAN put the tires on and then lower it to the ground and then torque.

    Mike, do you have any videos discussing tuning a newly installed suspension lift?

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When talking about most lift kits, there is nothing to tune unless you have tuneable shocks. Even then, most everyone sends those out to a shock tuner. Higher end products like coilovers or ORI struts need to be tuned but that is out of the scope of my channel for now.

  • @CodyV207

    How long would you say it takes to installv

    • @TheBFHGarage
      @TheBFHGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All depends on experience level and tools. Impacts make things go faster, knowing torque specs off the top off your head helps, in general, experience helps a lot. If it's your first time I would guess 6-8 hours.

    Got a question, i just noticed that after installing my 4.5 game changer lift, i have a rear track bar frame bracket that extends lower about 3"-4" from stock location. Would you recommend removing that or leaving it?

      In addition to the axle side relocation bracket? It's probably the difference between MC's 3.5" and 4.5" lift kits. I would do whatever Metalcloak instructs for that lift kit.

      @@TwoFeatherChannel That's just it. If you raise with a lift, then you have to tilt the pinion back. Tilting the pinion back requires a relocation bracket to correct the angle and place the axle side higher.
