After hearing Ariane’s take on the pimpbomb, I definitely agree. Like at least AJ was a real one and brought it to the girls front door. She wasn’t running around backstage whispering. Also good on Ariane for giving thanks to Brandi.

These interviews put so much context on the fans’ pre-conceived notions of women’s wrestling at the time, wether you like the direction or not, don’t hate the player (the Divas), hate the game (WWE’s treatment of them)
Everything I heard made Sonny one of the nicest and most supportive people ever and Ariane herself proving it just... yes! The moment they were told that their Wrestlemania Match got canceled was heartbreaking 😢 a shame how women were treated like supporting actors instead of main characters and still are today in some industries. She was always one of the strongest in character work and she slayed every moment 💅

it's crazy how Aj Lee is the "not like other girls" archetype for that era, it was definitely refreshing but I really wish she didn't feel the need to tear down other women to push for change. there's room for women in wrestling for the diva type and non diva type and it's sad to see women bash women for simply doing what was asked of them at that time and what certain women (like ariane) were happy to do.
I mean, personally if I worked my ass off to train and perfect my craft and there were women who were hired without knowing how to wrestle properly and just getting paid for being models that were brought in, having bra and panties matches or using the comp for fame, I'd be snappy asf too. The most annoying thing is to see someone get handed something you worked for. So I honestly can understand AJ. It needed to be said, no one was taking the women seriously.
