  • The federal government is ordering Canadian National (CN) Railway, Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and the Teamsters union to binding arbitration, capping off a tumultuous day that saw Canada's two main railways lock out employees simultaneously for the first time.     The federal government spends at least $33 billion per year on contracts for goods and services, with five per cent of that money going toward Indigenous-owned businesses, touted as a form of reconciliation.
