Crikey, what a difference, I reckon that you added £1,000 to the value of that caravan by just cleaning it. That gantry made the roof job a lot easier though! I enjoy cleaning my caravan and I note that like me you do NOT use a pressure washer, which I have seen many dealer's doing! Thanks for posting.
Hi, generally we don't. But if we do need to we use t cut or similar to cut the surface back and then a polish to give the shine and protection. Most car products will do it.
@@thecaravanplace ah ! TFR…I’ve got 5 litres of that at home…4 hours away from my caravan ! Ha,ha,think I’m gonna go with White Spirits…also, heads up to ya,you know them push up roof vents, the white flimsy plastic ones…well, they were all yellowed to hell on our van,(it’s 20 years old) anyways,I had to get a LOAD of sticky roof tape off them, and I mean a load (it’s like putty in tape form) so,I used White spirits, the side benefit being,it de-yellows the plastic and has brought them up like BRAND NEW ! Bonus !…cheers.
Hi Mark What timing just done the same at home on the driveway this afternoon roof wasn’t as bad as your caravan used fenwicks caravan cleaner then bobby dazzle and used a leather to dry it off going to drain off the water tomorrow and blow out all the access in the pipes and clean the external , grey waste pipes next week adding a couple USB’s and a Alde heating discrete themosate then all done till February
Wats ur opinion on power washing I think I bad for seals I personally wash mine like u brush and hose rinse I saw a video on TH-cam a few months back of a guy power washing his caravan I got slated for suggesting it was not good
Yes never use a power washer near the seals, if you are very careful you can use them but it can damage the seals and also the windows. We don't use a power washer to clean our vans.
@@thecaravanplace 100 percent agree the video I watched was a u tuber who specialises in all things power washing caravan cleaning being one of his services provided showing a video of him power washing a caravan he didn't take kindly to me commenting that it's crazy to power a caravan 😀
Never use pressure washers on statics or tourers it will damage the seals.and cause water ingress and never use a brush on the windows it will scratch the acrylic windows. I have been in the trade for 20 years I use a water fed pole with pure water so I don’t get the water marks left on the van and all my customers are happy with the result.
Great video as usual Mark. Is there a particular make of caravan that is more prone to cracking than others? We've got a Bailey Phoenix. How do you fix any cracking that you do find?
There's A Couple of Caravans In Our Storage Looking Sad!.. I Think Maybe Some People Just don't Clean Them!.. I couldn't Take Our Van Out Looking Like That!..

I like how the video description says "We use a set of steps", but what a set of steps it is! I was expecting a flimsy stepladder! 🤣
Lol, youngman podium steps.

Hi Dave, Super job, it sounds like you have a busy week or so ahead. It's no easy job is it. 👍
Snowfoam,works a treat,and,no real scrubbing.
I haven't tried snow foam yet, it would make a great video 👍

Your bailey is ok as no structural plastic panels. They can be plastic welded but normally expensive to fix.
That's excellent news about my Bailey. Thanks
Can I ask what scaffold tower did you use and where can I purchase one.
Hi we use a "Young man P1500". We bought from ebay about 7 years ago, there are some on ebay currently also.
It's just funny how water cleans it but it's also water that causes it ? If only there was a solution.
How come the roof was so bad? How many years had the roof not been cleaned? 😉
It definitely looked like a long time 👍
