I was the black player this game and remember that moment of trying to fully greed into Russia and getting hit with the oops. Little communication like that always helps me recognize a good player and choose to try and work with them if they are down. Red was playing so weird and I shoulda just sunk them early when I had the chance but I think I had been on a bad streak of loosing horribly on cap rolls so I was a little more passive than normal. Watching it back now and seeing myself sit with a 600 cap and one point and not obliterating red with their 130 cap right next to me is hard to watch. GGs as always Pete and if I’m gonna lose a game of EUROPE ADVANCED PROGRESSIVE CAPITALS I guess I can’t complain when it’s to you.

@@FreePete Neighbor caps don’t really bother me a ton on bigger maps as long as the person isn’t doing it with the intent of ruining my entire game. I live for the meta settings so I’m sure it won’t be the last time we come across the same lobby. Thanks for all the entertaining content and every thing you do to promote this game we all love.

I thinknred's early successes are a testament to how valuable bonuses are. Numerous times (to my, admittedly novice, eye) pete allowed red to keep two and i suspect three bonuses that were very much within his power to break.
Maybe I'm missing something but at the beginning I thought that purple just didn't know you had Italy? And that's why they started apologizing once they realized they had broken you?
Still, it’s understandable to break the red 2-stack before taking the rest of France, and once he does that he has no other way to fortify to his capital than by reach Germany through you. He didn’t see you attack the territory, he hasn’t found your capital, he has no way to know you care about Italy.
I think the biggest difference is pete will do it when out of any good option, while a noob will do it while having much better option. I will also add, that in that map those 2 cap could fight different dirrection instead of fighting for the same territories.

Being good neighbors and capping right next to each other in the middle of the board can be silly powerful when we both just expand out in opposite directions.
