Jon always gives 100%. He struggles through the entire song, but he delivers, he gets there. He doesn't have to play this difficult song to sing, but he does. I respect him so fucking much. He really shows respect for the fans and gives us all he's got everynight.

Imagine if he could sing like he did back then, that would be incredible! but even if not, he's still a better singer than many other famous singers who have always been at a moderate level vocally! This is a fantastic performance but he actually does use a track to assist him on some high notes. Look at any performance of Livin on a prayer post 2017. He doesn't actually sing the high "Livin on a prayer" right before the solo. In some performances you can clearly see his mouth moving away from the mic and the note isn't done yet

Apparently Bon Jovi rarely ever performed this song live because it was so difficult on Jon’s voice. Killer effort on his part with this. He stayed in tune and nailed some really difficult notes. He still sounds amazing! A true professional!

They aren't haters. I know Jon, he even admits he's lost his voice, that's why this is his last and final tour ever. He said if he can't bring it, he isn't worth the cost of tickets. He doesn't want to give sub-par performances. So he even admits it, they aren't haters, he is physically losing his voice, nothing he can do about it at-all. He did really good on this one. Honestly, anyone who says they didn’t like this is crazy. Sure maybe he can’t hit the notes he used to, but give him a break, he’s like sixty or something. Most people can’t sing this well at 18 or 20.
From my own expierience. This has not so much to do with his age. He told in an interview once, that he has the genes of his father: His voice gets deeper by the age. That and 35 years on the road might be more the reason..
I can’t say how impressed I am at how well he pulled this off with his voice in that condition. It’s a hard song to sing, and he does all the belting, and high notes. Super good performance for what it’s worth.

This is a fantastic performance but he actually does use a track to assist him on some high notes. Look at any performance of Livin on a prayer post 2017. He doesn't actually sing the high "Livin on a prayer" right before the solo. In some performances you can clearly see his mouth moving away from the mic and the note isn't done yet

Apparently Bon Jovi rarely ever performed this song live because it was so difficult on Jon’s voice. Killer effort on his part with this. He stayed in tune and nailed some really difficult notes. He still sounds amazing! A true professional!

So I applaud him being brave enough to not only admit it to us, but to himself. Kudos to Bon Jovi.

@@TheKnickers2 I'm a big fan of Bon Jovi since I was a kid and always will be. I'm still listening to them. Jon, Richie, David, Tico, Hugh and Alec are legends. I was just saying that Jon's vocals declined. Nobody can deny that. Just watch their old performances.

That’s not what he meant you jackass! He was speaking emotionally. The woman he was talking about in the song destroyed him for lack of a better phrase. He even said at the beginning without her he gives up. Pay attention jerk!
He did really good on this one. Honestly, anyone who says they didn’t like this is crazy. Sure maybe he can’t hit the notes he used to, but give him a break, he’s like sixty or something. Most people can’t sing this well at 18 or 20.
From my own expierience. This has not so much to do with his age. He told in an interview once, that he has the genes of his father: His voice gets deeper by the age. That and 35 years on the road might be more the reason..

• Age
• Bad vocal technique
• Smoking/drinking
• 35 years on the road
I can’t say how impressed I am at how well he pulled this off with his voice in that condition. It’s a hard song to sing, and he does all the belting, and high notes. Super good performance for what it’s worth.
The emotion and spirit is still there. Very nostalgic.
It is impossible not to get excited about this work of art, a rock anthem. Respect and admiration, it is incredible what they transmit, to the point of reaching tears.
Richie wrote the guitar part in this song, played it like he really felt the song back in 1995. Now, Phil tried to do justice and the feeling about this song hasn't changed. I love them both, I love this band... Man, please come to Indonesia again!
