Pamela youre always right. Especially about the first one. Not needing exoensive supplies. When i first got into art and later coloring, i was overwhelmed with all the expensive products I saw everyone using. I bought as much as I could as fast as I could just to please peoole who are colored pencil snobs and do not even care what I use lol Listen. I love my Schpirrer Farben. I do like and use often some wax based pencils. But my heart is most definitely with oil based pencils. I love to go slow and layer and build. I do have polychromos, but I enjoy using my Schpirrer Farben and even my Deli pencils more. I don't know why. I can't tell you. But I just do. And I've made BEAUTIFUL art and colored gorgeous pictures with them. If I said polychromos, no one would ever know. Edit: damnit I knew I should have bought the full set of the Artezas instead of the 72 while I could. I'm so sad that they're gone now.
Her old work looks better than mine 😂 But I totally see what she means, I color trying to relax from pain or anxiety. My blending needs more work. I like prisma colors too
I love your coloring from 2016-looks better than mine now LOL. Those bubbles are beautiful. I love watching you color & how you put down your shadows & highlights. You have a great eye!
Actually, it makes sense to rotate the sharpener rather than the pencil, after all that's how it is done with the desk ones - the pencil is still and the blade rotates.
I've been trying to do the swatching. I can't figure out how to organize my pencils so I don't mess up my swatching order... I've done my Arteza sets a few times, and i keep mixing them up, either missing a pencil or two or putting a color down more than once... 🤦♀️ I need to figure this out so I can color. I have noticed that by swatching, you do learn a bit about the pencil set you are using.
Logically, you swatch them in the same order you have them organized in. That way you always know where you are when swatching, and you always know where to find the pencil after looking at your swatch chart.

How do you learn to pick the colors to blend?

Just a FYI....it’s easier to hold the pencil still in your non-dominate hand and turn the sharpener with your dominant hand...
