I'm a lifetime Patriots fan. I respected Cam before he even played for us. Last year between covid, and our entire defense opting out. Tom Brady left to Tampa. Other than Jules, The cupboards were bare we had no weapons at all. And Cam, still came in and we had a 500 year and we were very competitive. Just goes to show how good of a leader and how talented he is. Respect.

Cam is right. Him being there would been a distraction. The first 3 int game Mac had for a loss everyone would have been saying put Cam in and vice versa. That is just what happens when you have two capable qbs on the roster and especially when you draft one in the 1st round. Everyone knows he's the future. It's just a matter of when. As a Patriot's fan I would have loved to see Cam here for another year, healthy and with better weapons around him. I think they would have been a minimum eleven win team with him. I don't think Mac is ready yet and this is an all in year for the Pats. You can tell Cam is a real pro. He is taking this better than most athletes that have accomplished as much as he has would. I wish him the best and have no doubt he will not only be picked up by another team but will be a starting qb again.

Lifelong Pats fan here. Cam was exactly what i expected when the patriots signed him before last season. Professional. I was extremely impressed with his leadership every Sunday. I was surprised they released him. Was looking forward to seeing him with some better offensive talent around him and a complete offseason. They decided to go in another direction. I have watched Bill Belichick talk about hundreds of players over his tenure with New England. I never seen him go to bat for someone the way he did with how lets call it what it is bad play from Cam Newton. Cam was still experienced enough to compete. Keep us/the patriots in so many games up until the end. Just had a lot of bad exectuion at the end of games. Not on just Cam. There were several factors. He wasnt the only reason that they struggled last season. With all that being said i am glad he was on my team. He brought excitement every week for me last year. I was always hoping it would come together here being only 30 31 years old i was hoping maybe if he balled out this year it could have been longterm. It was just not in the cards. Good luck Cam. I'm always going to root for him. I root for players who love the game. There was never any doubt watching him play that he loved the game and would do anything to win. The results werent what all of the fans and players were looking for but the effort was always there and we appreciate that.
The whole release from the Patriots was fishy when it all started unfolding, especially when it was "confusion" about him going to another facility and the COVID situation where he had to stay away for 5 days. The wheels were in motion right then and there within that time frame, I believe. It was a set up and it was an easy cop out for the Pats to release him. I met Cam multiple times outside his home in downtown Charlotte. His girlfriend at the time and their child. One of the most gracious Humans I have ever met. I will sat his demeanor is a bit more calm in person, but kind to the core

Cam is right. Him being there would been a distraction. The first 3 int game Mac had for a loss everyone would have been saying put Cam in and vice versa. That is just what happens when you have two capable qbs on the roster and especially when you draft one in the 1st round. Everyone knows he's the future. It's just a matter of when. As a Patriot's fan I would have loved to see Cam here for another year, healthy and with better weapons around him. I think they would have been a minimum eleven win team with him. I don't think Mac is ready yet and this is an all in year for the Pats. You can tell Cam is a real pro. He is taking this better than most athletes that have accomplished as much as he has would. I wish him the best and have no doubt he will not only be picked up by another team but will be a starting qb again.

Bottom line is he’s not the same QB he was in 2013. He’s not as accurate. He definitely is too flamboyant for the Patriots. Maybe If he spent more time getting better at football than dressing crazy for media and putting a 30/30 out on why he got cut, maybe he’d be on a team.

Lifelong Pats fan here. Cam was exactly what i expected when the patriots signed him before last season. Professional. I was extremely impressed with his leadership every Sunday. I was surprised they released him. Was looking forward to seeing him with some better offensive talent around him and a complete offseason. They decided to go in another direction. I have watched Bill Belichick talk about hundreds of players over his tenure with New England. I never seen him go to bat for someone the way he did with how lets call it what it is bad play from Cam Newton. Cam was still experienced enough to compete. Keep us/the patriots in so many games up until the end. Just had a lot of bad exectuion at the end of games. Not on just Cam. There were several factors. He wasnt the only reason that they struggled last season. With all that being said i am glad he was on my team. He brought excitement every week for me last year. I was always hoping it would come together here being only 30 31 years old i was hoping maybe if he balled out this year it could have been longterm. It was just not in the cards. Good luck Cam. I'm always going to root for him. I root for players who love the game. There was never any doubt watching him play that he loved the game and would do anything to win. The results werent what all of the fans and players were looking for but the effort was always there and we appreciate that.

The whole release from the Patriots was fishy when it all started unfolding, especially when it was "confusion" about him going to another facility and the COVID situation where he had to stay away for 5 days. The wheels were in motion right then and there within that time frame, I believe. It was a set up and it was an easy cop out for the Pats to release him. Most underrated / unappreciated QB out there. The skill sets between Cam and Mac aren’t even close. NE could have done some special things this year with Cam.
I disagree. Mac in week 1 showed great talent in his progressions and despite missing a few throws he was on target a lot and did great pre snap.
