I NEED these guys in a modern build. They're just so unique and I'm shocked more divide combiners haven't been done this way. They toys are very good, but may suffer from CPS, so a modernized incarnation, third party or not, I would LOVE.
I wish hasbro would revamp these guys for generations into the idw line these guys would have been perfect for combiner wars imagine a revamp with a more G1 esthetic there primary color being a grayish white with blue/orange accents and to avoid confusion there names would be jetburst and jetstorm there altmodes could be a bit more refined and could combine into a x wing type jet with the mets forming the wings...SOMEONE TELL THIS TO THE WINDBLADE WRITERS

Similar cases from different transforming robot series is Luckypunch in Hello Carbot, but have only one vehicle mode, like reflector (but camera). In robot mode, Luckypunch is divided into two different robot, such as Lucky (Cyan) and Punch (Orange). Like Safeguard, Luckypunch can become united again with another form as Dokkaebi mode, which Lucky as lower part and Punch as higher part. So, Lucky like Jetstorm and Punch like Jetfire.
This is one of my top five figures that I want to get but never found and can't afford now. I really love the look of the robot modes and of Safeguard, and I dig how unique they are. Great review.

technically they were the first ones capable of flight also the only problem i had with this set was my jetstorm's arm broke on the ball joint thirdly, im surprized there isnt a gekiryugin recolor of this guy for botcon or TFCC
You didn't finish that sentence. They were the first Autobots capable of transforming INTO FLYING VEHICLES. Jetfire and Jetstorm are far too young to be the first transforming Autobots since obviously characters like Ratchet had alt modes long before they were ever created. Though there is still a continuity error with that as technically Omega Supreme existed before they did as well but that could probably be explained away as he wasn't rebuilt into a ship until after the war.

I have this set. I was trying to transform Jetstorm, and his leg snapped off. luckily I got two. I can't remember why. It is a good thing, as I can fix my Jetstorm, unlike my ROTF Scavenger, who lirteraly broke in half. but he is fixable. Jetstorm is my favourite twin

I wonder of anyone had considered or tried replacement opaque plastic parts for the critical translucent joints in this guy(s). There's a possibility of a 2017 re-release but that's pure guesswork on my part. It would make sense though, as Takara and Hasbro basically did that for the BW anniversary, but petitioning and DVD sales wouldn't hurt. ;) Also would have loved a more G1 color scheme to Jetfire, which could have worked with Jetstorm in Beast Machines deco, as both palettes contain a similar shade of red... ...though that would have lost the charm of their individual pallettes when separate. Ah well.

IMO, I think they should've named Jetfire, Skyfire and have the combined mode be named Jetfire.
