    Awesome job, Mike! I need to do your 1 watt challenge sometime soon.
    I laughed pretty hard at your "never ask if a frequency is in use more than 3 times statement." There may be some merit to that!

      Do it! Not only is it a good test of antennas, it's a good way to test you patience, LOL.

    It's always amazing to see how far you can reach with so little power.

      It is a challenge, but it can be fun and it is an opportunity to learn also. Thanks for watching!

    Mike, excellent video and a good number of contacts at 1W! I especially enjoyed that one dude, KD9VAN who made it into the log! 😆😆😆 Catch you in the next park my friend! KD9VAN

    I appreciate you sharing your experiences operating QRPp SSB. As someone who has done several 1 watt or less CW POTA activations, you take it a step further with SSB. I'm always amazed by the results using less provides. Even more amazed that some operators feel it is necessary to use 100 watts exclusively. Always nice to see your videos.

      Thanks, Jim! I always enjoy learning what can or can’t be done with ham radio, even if it’s a challenge. And I hope sharing experience like this encourages others to try different things in the hobby.

    Great video! There’s hope for QRP POTA activations. Keep ‘Em coming. Also a fan of K4OGO’s low-power ops. 73, Mike K3CXG

    How did you measure your power? Cw and key down? Whistle into Mike?? Good video..

      @MikeN2MAK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I just use the Power on the rig. I had it set at 10% which should be 1 Watt (or about).

      Put the rig in the cw, AM mode and key down, using accurate watt meter…. You might be putting out less? Or, more!! Thanks for the reply!!😊😊

    QRP is great. I should get into it more. Don't have to worry quite so much about frying something either. 😅

      Now is the time to do it, while the band conditions are getting better and better during Cycle 25. I go back and forth between QRP and 100W. Pileups can be a lot of fun, but so can QRP contacts.

    Were you using an antenna tuner in your setup? I looked at the antenna, and it says you will need an antenna tuner. The graphs shows you most likely need a tuner to use it on most bands except maybe 20m and a small portion on 40m & 10m. Great video by the way.

    • @MikeN2MAK
      @MikeN2MAK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I wasn’t using a tuner. The SWR is nearly flat on 40m, 20m, 10m and 6m with the antenna. Depending on your radio and setup, it’s possible you might get more too. I just released a new video where I go through the SWR and show I I was able to use it on 9 different bands. Thanks for watching!

    RG-174 on 28mc 😂 Awesome video Mike 🤠 Proves it was a good antenna and operating techniques 👍 de WE0H ..

    • @MikeN2MAK

      Yeah, RG174 isn’t ideal for the higher frequencies it’s but it is lightweight and doesn’t pull on the mast as much. Thanks for watching!
