  • Josef Sudek was born in 1896 in Kolin, Bohemia. He learned the trade of bookbinding.
He served into the Hungarian Army in 1915 and served on the Italian Front until he was wounded in the right arm and eventually surgeons removed his arm. After his discharge, Sudek studied photography for two years in a school for graphic art in Prague. Between a disability pension and intermittent work as a commercial photographer, Sudek made a living. Despite only having one arm, he used large, bulky medium format cameras. Sudek was expelled from a local camera club because they thought he should abandon the "painterly" style of his photographs.

I enjoy your presentations very much. I learn more from viewing these type photographs than 20 talking heads' videos. Light, composition, content... All are great learning and appreciation for me. Thank you

    何だろう.構図が完璧なのはあるけど、写りすぎてないのが美しいんだな〜
