Wow! Such a big piece of work. Friend, how do you eliminate hum (static amp noise) for single coil? I have 5th Ave as well, but idk how to get rid of it. Maybe grounding issues or dirty power at home.. Thanks!
Thank you!!! For this project, most of my single coil tones came from a Ernie ball music man cutlass strat, which has a silent circuitry built in. It doesn’t get rid of all the hum, but helps big time. I’ve also had the electro harmonix hum debugger recommended. I still haven’t had a chance to try it, but it supposedly works very well. It’s certainly more of a challenge when you’re recording solo guitar! It’s one of the reasons I didn’t use my 5tn avenue as much for the album.
@@sheifiproductions Thanks for reply! Now I understand. When you dive into this, you start respecting people a lot more because of such knowladge, skills and technique, dealing unexpected pitfalls :) great work! I see. Maybe will try this hum eliminator one day as well. I was kinda successful with filtering out this noise using Adobe Audition noise filter after recording. Kinda works, but I'm not professional. On your previous videos you had a good tone with 5th Ave though. What do you think, replacing a pickup on 5th Ave is possible and reasonable, and what humbacker can I potentially go for? Thank you for helping here 😃
@@big_forehead_fish I would definitely consider that hum debugger. That being said, if you’re playing clean the hum on the P90 that comes on the kingpin really isn’t bad at all. It’s a nice sounding pickup that I wouldn’t necessarily change. Only reason I ended up changing it was I like Tuck Andress a lot and he has a signature bartolini pickup that I had always wanted to try. You get some really nice tones out of the stock pickup so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend replacing it.
@@sheifiproductions totally agree. By the way, I found a good outlet and place in my room where the hum is almost at zero level at room volume levels (and a bit above) Totally in love with the sound. One thing is to listen in TH-cam, but other - play it by yourself. Magical! Thanks for info my friend. Have productive practicings and good mood for futher recordings!
