So many amazing places, no exception with these lovely gardens. That popping plants seems quite interesting, haven't seen one of those before. (The red one i think we did) Natura is just amazing everywhere one goes. If we ever go back to England, we'll have to bring you guys as guides. And then we show you around here in Costa Rica, plenty of magenta flowers here too. 😉
YES! You have shown gorgeous magenta flowers in CR! And I love the brightly coloured parrots and birds as well! Just not the spiders and bugs... haha Would be lovely to travel with you in Britain someday! Cheers! XX Dara
Thank you for bringing us the delights of more English country gardens. Sezincote was a triumphant blend of English and Indian gardens. The two of you look so sweet and happy holding hands as you walk through the gardens
Thanks Gerry! I’m not usually that sappy in videos, but we decided to be a bit lovey-dovey for this one. Beautiful English gardens are romantic, right? Safe travels on your trip!!

That water feature with the dripping flowers and the little island in the pool are simply magical!!! What fun it would be to spend some time there sketching or painting. Thanks for sharing!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Diane and I need to go to the UK just to see gardens like these. We love gardens that look mostly like the native lands around the area where the garden is located and are left slightly wild. That attracts the native wildlife.

I love the quirky third one in this vlog. Y'all keep putting more places on my bucket list, and I thank you for that. In my travels in the UK I like going to these kinds of places that show just how vast and powerful the British Empire used to be. It's vastness at its height has always amazed me considering the size of the island that had that much power and wealth. It's history is not necessarily a happy one for most of the people back then except for a small amount of it's subjects but it's really interesting.
It is very interesting. I really don’t go into the political ramifications of the British empire and its boundaries, but it certainly has been a global power for quite a long time. And I found it fascinating how certain British people were enamoured with India and brought the architecture and design back to England.
Can't wait to visit Kiftsgate now. You must visit Dewstow gardens and grottoes in Caldicot just over the border before they close for good end of September.
@@risteardconchuir4065 oh no! We are currently in Germany and will be here for three more weeks before we go back to Texas. So I'm afraid I will miss it...
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a lovely comment. I loved the last one as well, because it was so unique and fun to discover. But I think the water features at Kiftsgate make it my favourite. A place I will likely visit again!❤️ Cheers! XX Dara
Ooh, didn't realize poppies came in magenta, too! (at least I, Stephen, didn't). I like your description of there being kind of "separate rooms" within a garden, grouped by color. And I'm nuts over the little 1789 sundial. The sheep in the pasteur is such a beautiful and idyllic scene! And the popping plants - crazy cool!

I do love cottage gardens! Plenty of Magenta flowers in there! We loved the water feature at the 2nd garden. So clever, a really unique design - drilling leaves. Senzincote house looks so grand!!! Loved this xx
Thank you for introducing me to two garden I have never heard of. I have visited Hidcote which didn't disappoint. I felt I recognised Sezincote garden which stood as a London park in Poldark.
Really?! I LOVED Poldark! Didn't recognise the park, so thanks for letting me know! We did visit another Poldark filming location last summer. It's one of the MANY vlogs I have yet to edit and publish. *insert eye roll emoji* Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Cheers! XX Dara
Yesterday we watched an interview with the chief gardener of Versailles and they showed footage of the gardens of Versaille. although they are huge, well maintained....I definitely prefer the English gardens, full of flowers blooming everywhere.
Beautiful botanical gardens! ahhh, love how pretty and serene the views are. Always enjoy tuning into your videos. The music was great to listen along too aswell, Thanks for sharing, glad you had a great day out! 👍👌
Thank you so much for the kind words. I have been working hard at upping my music game. I'm still not on the Gen Xplorers level, but I'm trying ;-) Cheers! XX Dara
Beautiful use of water you can have too many water falls and fountains. The colours of the gardens are really beautiful and now winter and spring are fighting it out the flower beds both public and private are coming to life. We have three cherry trees waiting to explode with pink flowers. The birds take the cherries which are bitter and not sweet like the ones in the shops. Do you do Easter Bonnets in Texas? my mum in law is having ten of the girls (74 - 87 years of age) around on Good Friday. They've all made bonnets we have a prize for each best in show and all that. A bottle of champagne for the best chocolate eggs for the rest. A few of the families are coming, to keep an eye on them. I'm making a cake, chocolate with Cadbury flake to look like a nest in the middle filled with small eggs and a few fluffy chicks. I hope you and your husband have a marvellous Easter. Andy.
Oh my goodness, your Easter celebration sounds fantastic! You need some Peeps in your "basket cake". My friend Lucy on Brit Girls just did a review of her tasting Peeps... a very American delicacy LOL. th-cam.com/video/njQxEac0zew/w-d-xo.html Brits love their chocolate Easter eggs whereas Americans seem to have more chocolate Bunnies. Easter bonnets are rather a thing of the past. I always had an Easter hat as part of my outfit each year. But these days only a small segment of the population wears hats at all, even at Easter.
Loved the presentation on this Dara! Each segment was so stylish. Some incredible gardens there and you certainly picked the best time of year for your tour. Music was lovely. Such a wonderful video, thank you for sharing. Nice to see you both on camera walking together also! ♥️♥️
Thanks so much for the thoughtful comments! You know I have been working so hard on improving my music choices!!! It takes ages, but I'm chuffed when it works out ;-) As for us being filmed together... that was a rare occurrence! I never bother to carry a tripod with me. And on this visit my friend came with us... so I put her to work! haha
@@MagentaOtterTravels yes it was really nice to see you both, the walking through the gardens looked very natural and the music choices were inspired! Great job ♥️
Dara, there's just no end of lovely things from this tour! Hidcote is absolutely stunning! I especially loved the "rooms" with their colour themes. Did you also manage to find a bunch more magenta poppies in Kiftsgate? And the themes of the beautiful architecture and landscaping at Sezincote was unbelievable. This was just a breathtaking tour. I can see why you're so taken with the Cotswolds. Thank you for this!
Thanks so much for watching! I only saw magenta puppies one other place this summer. It was at the Lords of the Manor Hotel in Upper Saughter. Another glorious day in the Cotswolds. But that one had a cream tea 🫖 💕
Wow Dara these Cotswold videos just keep coming, you did so much while you were there, it’s awesome you have visited so many beautiful places I didn’t even know existed and we are from the UK you have definitely put Cotswold on our to do list! Well next week I take a break from the Cotswolds beauty for something COMPLETELY different! My channel is totally going down the toilet ;-) Thanks for watching... let's get you to visit the Cotswolds this summer! We shall come meet up with you for some cheese! Or a cream tea! Cheers! XX Dara (and Ian)
I'll start with the last garden: Wow. What a gorgeous theme garden. We too call those round 'tops' onions as well. Many churches way up north in Fryslân have them. In Frisian the onion is called a "sipel" but that's another story. I couldn't help but notice the children rolling down the steep slope. How wonderful an activity is that. I'd also like to cool my feet in the pond. The English do have a natural talent when it comes to garden design and make good use of the lay of the land. The choice of colours and flowers always seem so apt, logical and a perfect selection made. I am so pleased I was able to walk through these gardens with you both. Loved the couple selfies. Gorgeous. Another notch on your belt of 'gem' videos Dara. Awesome. 💖 🤩 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱
Thanks so much Anita! The day we were at that last garden there were a lot of Indian families there. It was so sweet watching the parents exploring the garden and streams with their children. And the kiddos LOVED that hill. It was a beautiful warm summer day!☀️
But the Newt's loved your video and so did we, Dara and Ian! Stunning gardens and lovely fountains. It's nice that the first two gardens were so close together and we loved the steeping stones to heavenly beauty. Gorgeous weather and a wonderful way to spend the day. Thanks for inviting us to your "Garden Party!"
Thanks, Julie! We are not like those channels that are lovey dovey all the time... but I thought I'd put a bit of schmaltz in this video. Flower gardens are romantic, right?
I liked the brief mention of the ha ha. Reminded me when we chatted about the town in Quebec called Ha! Ha! something in your Westward Ho! video. Happy memories. :-)
Yes, I remember! Unfortunately Ian‘s mother has an unpleasant memory about a ha ha. One bonfire night whilst walking in the dark, she fell off a ha ha during a fireworks show! Broke her wrist!
@@MagentaOtterTravelsOMG, there's a road in Woolwich, SE London, called Ha Ha Road where I fell over when a little boy. Didn't break anything though. :=)
Thank you so much, Clare! We desperately want to get back to Cornwall for garden visiting, but I doubt we can fit it in this summer. We were disappointed to miss Heligan and others... I also want to see Kent sometime... "the Garden of England". So many places... never enough time! But I'm chuffed that we have such lovely gardens right in OUR home county of Gloucestershire. You definitely need to visit Heligan when you next come to Cornwall. Yes we also want to visit Kent, it always seems so far from Cornwall 😂 You have a lovely location in Gloucestershire though. Happy travels this summer xx
Is it your goal to make me Google at least one word in every comment you make? haha Honestly, I do think it would be worth a drive to see any of these gardens. Even though I think Hidcote is the most famous... I think I would rank it 3rd of the 3. Kiftsgate is artistic and magical. Sezincote is just so unusual and interesting! Cheers! XX Dara

Aw, the bah-ing sheep!!!! 😍 Wow, Seizencote is amazing! It's so sprawling and there's so much going on! And what is happening with the interior of that car? It's fab! Thanks! I don't wear MOT shirts often enough... must fix that! That car is typical Indian fancy fancy car... I think they use it for weddings. A lot of Indian weddings take place at this venue ;-)
@@MagentaOtterTravels The car is a Hindustan Ambassador. It started life as a Morris Oxford in the 1950s, but when Morris replaced it, the tooling was shipped out to India where they continued to build it for another forty years or so, latterly with a Nissan engine.

Beautiful photography Dara, and the music was lovely. Have you heard Jimmy Rodger's song English Country Garden? It would be perfect for your 'garden' videos.

@@MagentaOtterTravels I see, well I hope you will have a beautiful trip in France. I actually live near Paris, but France is way more than that. Have a nice day :)
@@rznkiller7723 We will be staying in Paris at the end, because we fly back to Texas from Paris. But the first place we go in France will be Colmar. I’ve never been to that area, and we are really excited to see it!
Although Sezincote House is really beautiful, I don't really like this "imported" oriental style of masonry work. It is surely amazing in its "natural environment" (India) but I always think it looks grafted when used elsewhere. Just like the Egyptian obelisk in the center of Paris. But as always to each their own. 😉
I hear you. It's like when Las Vegas tries to be Paris or Disneyworld tries to be everywhere on Earth.... I prefer seeing things in their original environment ;-) But I also enjoy seeing such an unusual garden that was created because of someone's passion and interest in another culture.
The gardens are plants art and craft .Fountains of water hedges, Rooms and most needed ,bird song .The music added is only an American issue who have no idea what an English garden was built for
I think Kiftsgate is far nicer and more relaxing than Hidcote. I think Hidcote is too formal and austere, those tall yew hedges are a bit too much. It's also scary when you can't find your way out! I've been there twice and don't find it a very comfortable place to visit.
Hidcote is famous, and does have some lovely plants and trees... so I was happy to visit. But I think Kiftsgate is more magical and captivating. I would love to visit that D shaped pool again on a hot summer day and look out over the gorgeous valley below... Cheers, Jill! XX Dara

I do love cottage gardens! Plenty of Magenta flowers in there! We loved the water feature at the 2nd garden. So clever, a really unique design - drilling leaves. Senzincote house looks so grand!!! Loved this xx
Thanks friends! And thanks again for the shoutout! Looking forward to getting together... so Wills can have a pint and I can have a cream tea ;-)

Cheers! XX Dara
綺麗な映像ですね!とてもリラックスできます😄Thank you for sharing!
😃
Yesterday we watched an interview with the chief gardener of Versailles and they showed footage of the gardens of Versaille. although they are huge, well maintained....I definitely prefer the English gardens, full of flowers blooming everywhere.
Yes, that style of cramming all the plants together in just the right way is the beauty of the English garden!
My friend Lucy on Brit Girls just did a review of her tasting Peeps... a very American delicacy LOL. th-cam.com/video/njQxEac0zew/w-d-xo.html
Brits love their chocolate Easter eggs whereas Americans seem to have more chocolate Bunnies.
Easter bonnets are rather a thing of the past. I always had an Easter hat as part of my outfit each year. But these days only a small segment of the population wears hats at all, even at Easter.
Great overview of the top gardens in Cotswolds.
Cheers!
It takes ages, but I'm chuffed when it works out ;-)
As for us being filmed together... that was a rare occurrence! I never bother to carry a tripod with me. And on this visit my friend came with us... so I put her to work! haha
@@MagentaOtterTravels yes it was really nice to see you both, the walking through the gardens looked very natural and the music choices were inspired! Great job ♥️
Very beautiful upload enjoyed watching always stay connected
Have a good day 🌻
Thanks!
Beautiful gardens! Have a super weekend and this Magenta Otter fan is excited for next weeks premier 🥰❤️👍💋
That pond is amazing
I agree! Gardens are known for pretty flowers... but these also had amazing trees and REALLY incredible water features all over!
It was a beautiful warm summer day!☀️
@@MagentaOtterTravels 💝🙋♀️
I had no idea poppies came in magenta! These are the first I've ever seen. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! I was very excited about that discovery!💖
Cheers! XX Dara
Your comment brought a smile to my face, Dave! Thanks so much. Love to you and Kathy!
Lovely romantic interlude - very nice pic of you both 💕
Thanks, Julie! We are not like those channels that are lovey dovey all the time... but I thought I'd put a bit of schmaltz in this video. Flower gardens are romantic, right?
You have a lot of interesting playlists! What a beautiful location.
Thanks so much! It’s my favorite part of the world 😉
I liked the brief mention of the ha ha.
Gorgeous Gardens! 🌼🌻💐
Thanks 😊… we enjoyed them!
These are so beautiful, I just love watching your videos
Thanks so much, Rose! That is very kind of you to say! XX Dara

Thanks
Wow these gardens are so stunning, not visited any of these….yet! Thanks for your lovely videos 😍
I hope you can visit some of them if you ever get up that way! Cheers! XX Dara
You definitely need to visit Heligan when you next come to Cornwall. Yes we also want to visit Kent, it always seems so far from Cornwall 😂 You have a lovely location in Gloucestershire though. Happy travels this summer xx
Wow! Great photography. Stunning tour of the gardens, with oh-so-brief input from your ovine expert! (Persuaded it'd be worth the 60 mile drive...!)
Is it your goal to make me Google at least one word in every comment you make? haha
Honestly, I do think it would be worth a drive to see any of these gardens. Even though I think Hidcote is the most famous... I think I would rank it 3rd of the 3. Kiftsgate is artistic and magical. Sezincote is just so unusual and interesting! Cheers! XX Dara
@@MagentaOtterTravels Sorry! Wasn't intending to appear sesquipidalian or a pretentious vocabularian 😜 It sounds like we need a short break 'garden crawl' starting at Sezincote and moving on to Kiftsgate. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@RichardWells1 no, you are not at all pretentious. Completely delightful 😉
Hey!! Finding your channel has been such a blessing!! I love what you’re doing, please continue to do what you love to do! I’ll be here to support you! I wish you all the best! Never give up!! ❤️ +1 Subscriber!!! 💙
Thanks so much 😊
Aw, the bah-ing sheep!!!! 😍 Wow, Seizencote is amazing! It's so sprawling and there's so much going on! And what is happening with the interior of that car? It's fab! Andie would probably get annoyed with me here, because I'd be wanting to look in every nook and cranny, for way longer than needed to fully appreciate the experience. 😁
And btw, ♥️ your Magenta Otter Travels tee!
@@davidjones332 Thank you so much for providing that information! Are there many of those cars in Britain these days? Are they popular in India? Cheers! Dara
You should be employed by the British tourism board . I see you subscribers are slowly but surely going up . Sure if they see just one of your videos they would subscribe. Will be great to see you back in the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you kindly EKK! Yes, I'm a right turtle... my subs are growing slow and steady ;-) But it's about quality not quantity, and I have the BEST subs ever!!! We are getting so excited to be back in the UK. But I'm still gobsmacked by the number of cool videos I filmed last summer that I haven't been able to publish yet. So watch this space! haha ... Next Friday's video is very funny. Hope you enjoy it!

I see you managed to capture the pond wild life 🔎
Always have my eye out for wildlife 😉

Beautiful photography Dara, and the music was lovely. Have you heard Jimmy Rodger's song English Country Garden? It would be perfect for your 'garden' videos.
Thanks so much! Someone suggested that song last year. It does have wonderful lyrics! I don't have access to a copyright free version... so I'll have to get Ian to sing it for me ;-) LOL
You'll have to do a trip to Exbury Gardens in Hampshire ( best through May ) a Magenta paradise ( other colours available )
Hmmmm... not sure I can make it to Hampshire THIS May (I have houseguests coming!) but I shall keep it in mind! Duly noted ;-)

Hello, could you react to the top 10 places to visit in France by Ryan Shirley ?
I’d consider doing another reaction video… but I’m hesitant to do one about France. My views are pretty terrible when I do topics other than Britain 😬…. But we are going to France in September! I’ll see if anyone watches those vlogs 😉
Thanks so much for your comment! Cheers! XX Dara
Can a bull on it's knees be standing guard 🤔
They didn’t look very scary to me, TBH
Although Sezincote House is really beautiful, I don't really like this "imported" oriental style of masonry work. It is surely amazing in its "natural environment" (India) but I always think it looks grafted when used elsewhere. Just like the Egyptian obelisk in the center of Paris. But as always to each their own. 😉
I hear you. It's like when Las Vegas tries to be Paris or Disneyworld tries to be everywhere on Earth.... I prefer seeing things in their original environment ;-) But I also enjoy seeing such an unusual garden that was created because of someone's passion and interest in another culture.
The gardens are plants art and craft .Fountains of water hedges, Rooms and most needed ,bird song .The music added is only an American issue who have no idea what an English garden was built for
🥹
Don't you just hate that, when you park your car, come back and find it covered in flowers
LOL 😂
TH-cam had decided to unsubscribe us from your channel! Bah! Needless to say, that's now remedied. Annoying though!
I've had that happen as well... how RUDE! Do they not know we are friends IRL?!?! Thanks for being my newest sub! Love you!😘 Cheers! XX Dara
XX Dara
Yes, I'm glad I visited Hidcote but still didn't feel relaxed there. Much prefer Kiftsgate .
