    Holy crap you are the first person I've seen using tapping fluid for cutting the steer tube and tapping it. That makes me so happy.

    • @bf.258
      @bf.258 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      WTF is tapping fluid? Isn't it just regular oil for lubrication...

    • @CaptBeanerzzz
      @CaptBeanerzzz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bf.258 It's a cutting oil made specifically for tapping. Tap Magic is a really popular one.

    Nice, Stamp 11 pedals? I had Stamp 11 on my 2019 RM Instinct BC, sold the bike but kept the pedals, 299 grams for the small size. Was that carbon paste for the BB shell to avoid creaking? I am looking at a 2021 SB 115 T-2 XO build

    • @mckaymartwig8019
      @mckaymartwig8019 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NOOO. Dont put carbon paste on. BB shell. Its a park tool pressfit adhesive

      @@mckaymartwig8019 Thanks, i was wondering what it was. I found a 2021 SB 130 T-2 with AXS, G-2 brakes, gold chain and Factory Kashima seatpost, still has the plastic on the cranks, it's the raw/nude carbon, top end build for sure just needs some nice carbon wheels

    What size is the stem and also the frame?

  • @Serial-hobbyist
    @Serial-hobbyist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What was that grease/lube you out on the brake pistons? And was that an old caliper you used for centering?

    • @mckaymartwig8019
      @mckaymartwig8019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its just dot fluid. Sometimes those pistons can get sticky and one moves more than the other. Also they can develop a "memory" to the piston seals to where they sit out too far in the caliper and rub on the rotor. (Basically not retracting far enough backninto the caliper) then I cut up an old rotor to use as a centering tool.

    How much does this pleasure cost?

    • @zxtenn
      @zxtenn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Easily 10 grand or more, all high end parts there, unfortunately not it's that difficult to spend 8 grand+ on a nice bike nowdays then you need to be in serious shape to ride it even close to its potential

      Specced pretty much the same bike this PM and came up with $11k for parts only. Then add the labor to assemble.
